Google Pixel 9 Series (9/9 Pro/9 Pro XL/9 Pro Fold & Pixel Watch 3)

I'm eventually breaking my 4 Samsung device streak and going back to the pixel. Mainly due to Samsung not supporting AptX audio codecs, which is becoming annoying.

For some strange reason the trade in offer on Googles website does not list the latest Samsung releases which was frustrating as it looked like I couldn't do the £200 credit bump for pre-order.

O2 however did have the newer Samsung stuff, with the £200 bonus credit.

I don't think I've done too badly...

Pixel 9 Pro XL 512Gb on a 2 year contract (none of this 4 year malark) and traded my current phone in as credit against monthly payments.

Up Front: £10
Monthly: £76.53
Trade-in: £710 (Samsung S24 Ultra which I bought new for £830)
Adjusted Monthly: £46.95

Wow prices have went up. My pixel 8 pro was £28pm and I sold the watch that came with it.

That's insane. Like £1300 more than the pixel 8 pro!!

Misread the trade in, still without that it's expensive as hell.

Went in to three different phone stores today to take a look at the new 9 line-up. Unfortunately, none of them had a 9 Fold to try out, not did they even have a dummy model to be able to see the size.

I was pleasantly surprised to try out and hold the 9 Pro and see it was near on identical in size to my Pixel 5.

Tempted as it would be a nice camera upgrade from my 5 as I take a lot of zoomed shots that turn out blurry. But mostly I'd enjoy a much brighter screen. I often struggle to see my 5 when out in the summer day time.

£76 per month!!! Ouch. I guess that's what you get for not buying upfront...

They had the Pixel 9, pro and pro XL along with the 45mm watch 3 in the Currys near me today. Couldn't hold them though as they were in metal bracket tied down to the stan.

I think I'll get one of these (pro or pro XL maybe) either on a good contract deal when my phone (pixel 6) airtime sim only plan is up in January or pay it in full and get it sim free...

Problem is I want to stay on EE network as coverage pretty good on the train and I also like being able to gift my wife data. I suppose I'll keep a lookout on hotukdeals

This can't be right for EE? Great if I've not missed anything here in relation to the 9 Fold

Trade in an eligible device in any condition (see full list below) and get one of the below new Google Pixel 9 devices on a 25GB or higher plan to qualify for the Trade-in offer.

Purchase the Pixel 9-Fold and trade-in an eligible device to receive a £26 monthly discount applied over 24-months (£624 via bank transfer for new to EE flex pay customers).

What deals did you get, the one I posted above?

Yep that’s the one. It’s also a “free” upgrade to the 512GB model.

Did you get the trade in discount calculated in the order?

Yep. £624 for my iPhone 14. It says it’s taking £26/month off the airtime but elsewhere it said something about a bank transfer so I don’t know how it works really.

Also, after I ordered online I then had to phone them (order confirmation email tells you to). 50 minutes on hold and then another 30 minutes going through the contracts again.

Contracts are crazy at the moment, O2 let you go to a 4 year contract to keep costs down but I don't think I've ever kept a phone for longer than 2 years. I'd probably of bought outright if googles website would have took an S24U. With my S24 as a trade in as credit to the contract It's worked out £15/month more than I was paying for a SIM only package so I don't mind too much.

I've also just noticed that it's also got the £8.99 charge for Amazon prime on there as O2 do a £2 discount if you buy it as a bolt on.

I get sweats paying more than £20 for contracts!

Car phone warehouse are giving £300 on top of your phone trade in value against the Pixel 9 Fold AND a free pixel watch 2, I have pixel 8 pro they offering £335 so this gives £665 in total against Fold , leaving smallish up front payment & circa £30 a month over two years depending on what network you go with.

Seems a very good deal considering you could sell the watch too etc.

Apologies, the deal is with mobiles.co.uk
