Google Pixel 9 Series (9/9 Pro/9 Pro XL/9 Pro Fold & Pixel Watch 3)

Have to say the design of the 9 is growing on me. But spec wise it's not a lot better than the 8. Still pleased I went with a deal on the 8 pro. Will keep an eye on the evolution of the pixel though and will probably skip a couple more gens before upgrading.

I caved and ordered a pro fold. Not had a foldable before so quite looking forward to it. Free watch too.

Either Google didn't expect to sell many of these or people have gone nuts ordering them as my ETA is now 17th October :(

You’ve read about it not having same camera/features as the pro model yes? Also that it doesn’t have a vapour chamber like the other models.

From reading about it. There is nothing Pro about it. Nice play with words by Google.

It has the same screen as the pro xl :p

But for me the fold is more of a flop.

The tech isn't quite there on folding phones if you ask me. Great idea in principle, but highly flawed at the moment.

Too thick and heavy, screen aspect not fully supported on all apps, hinges prone to wearing out and screens prone to fold creases.

Add to that the obscene pricing and it all adds up to a big no thanks from me.

I picked up a Pixel 8 in May (when on sale & inc the Watch 2) after breaking my S23 Ultra. Thinking it would only be a temp stop gap whilst I got it repaired, I have found the smaller form factor better so prob going to go 9 Pro Early Sept.

I prefer stock Google Android and find the camera better for every day point and click.

I've got a 9 Pro XL coming today, upgrading from an S23 FE I got for pennies. £360 upfront and £26 per month for 300GB with Vodafone. I should get £350 back for my S23 FE which is more than I paid for it. The only reason I switched to Samsung was the speakers and fingerprint scanner on my Pixel 6 were terrible. Here's hoping the 9 Pro XL is better in that regard.

Does anyone have the official Google 45W charger and can tell me how much it protrudes from the socket when plugged in?

Where from please. That sounds like a great deal.

Pixel 9 Pro's landed last week. We were on the early purchase roll out wave as had every Pixel phone since the beginning - so it's nice to be recognised on Google loyalty program.

Careful with the specs advertised on the Google Website, 1TB storage isn't available in any colourways. The porcelain and RQ colourways won't be available in anything more than 256Gb. You can get Hazel or OB and then use a colour case if you want / need 512Gb :D

Hot pink standard 9 ordered, kid needs a phone for secondary school, so will pass on the pixel 8 to her.

apparently i am getting £200 for an old pixel 3a - reviews for the trade in company are shocking, so i will be making a detailed recording of the phone before sending.
Had zero issues with the trade in company that Google have used for the past 4 years. All of our phones have gone there in varying levels of "state", but never badly damaged or cracked screens, and always had full payout

Just moved to 9 Pro XL from 8 Pro.

Charging is a massive improvement. Maybe I had a dud, but my 8 Pro got hot during charging and throttled down significantly. The charging curve to 90% is much more aggressive in the 9 XL and runs at least 5 degrees cooler. 90% charge seems to be about 1 hours, and 65% in 30 minutes. Happy with that, but would still love 60w plus charging.
