Watching this with a keen eye, I really fancy jumping back into stock Android after a string of Samsung phones.

I hope they have the coloured light bar at the bottom like other Pixel devices!

This is a good move. Google having full control of the hardware.

How do they "not"?

Google was rumoured to be exterting more control over Nex...Pixel phones.
And HTC aren't exactly Samsung, they need the business so I'm sure they'll be more willing to allow Google to do so.

After all HTC has been an ODM in the past.

google have seen how the HTC's phones have been flopping year after year.

But considering it will be a different size, different internal specs, different features i.e the back of the phone, scanner position etc...I wouldn't exactly say rebranded.

Possibly a design nod from an A9 but rebranded is a bit of a stretch.

Indeed until the final version is shown I'll reserve judgement. The 6P looked a lot worse than it actually was.

I'm normally not that bothered about camera quality but as long as the camera is better than my current phone (Nexus 4) I'll be happy .

Yeah I know. I love the phone though. It has worked perfectly for all that time. The only reason I am upgrading is that I need the latest version of Android now.

7" is such a redundant size imo... Can't really see the point!

Personal I love a high spec 7", while I love my pixel c it just too big to carry around by it self, you need a bag. While a7" is just a nice size too fit in my cargo pants pocket or the inside pocket of my jacket

I would love a 7" refresh. I still use the original nexus 7 for bedtime browsing and it is perfect. I have an iPad from work and it is just huge and heavy (non air).
