I honestly don't know what I spent on Stadia, so hopefully Google does  It wasn't much, maybe I bought a controller and one game? Can the controllers be used on PC's as regular controllers? I assume so?

It's only the digital content they're refunding surely?

Just checked my spend, and was about £80 of money I never gave a thought to getting back! Bonus :D

Hardly surprising when many of the games were much more than some other platforms, or were utter pants.

I'm a bit gutted as a Founder, but am not shocked.

Was originally very hyped for it but indeed, price and lack of games meant you were soon left with a choice between a handful of recent AAA or indie games, nothing in-between, no back catalogue to be seen.

Founders kit, couple of games for me, will pay for Google One so nothing to sniff at.

Really enjoyed my time with Stadia, was absolutely fantastic.

Not sure why a lot of people here are complaining about the price of games? I never paid more than any other digital store front, in-fact, often paying less.

Got CP2077 for £50 and it came with an extra controller and CCU, great value.

£20 for MK11, £15 for Doom Eternal... And quite a few others.

Lack of games, yes, no question. But the quality of the service was absolutely fantastic for me. I've played games on the TV, my Chromebook, waiting at a bus stop, walking into town, at a coffee shop. It's been amazing and I'll be sad to not have that convenience any longer.

Time to finish up some games.

Never jumped in on this, and thought it would fail. Props to Google for agreeing to refund everyone's hardware and games though. Only right though considering you can't play them anymore.

I thought their pricing was all wrong. Charging silly money for a game which you legally own even less than you do with a digital game key.

Not surprised at all.

Can’t believe how many bought into it thinking it’ll be the next big thing ?
All well and cool sitting up there on the high fence looking down on those that did, but you and no one else back at launch could have predicted this and if everyone did have that same attitude, then there would be a lot of stuff that would never of made it.

I enjoyed my Founders time with Stadia and unlike many others fails... I will be getting my money back!

I honestly couldn't believe it when they didn't go with a subscription model. Connecting to some online service with input lag etc. No thanks. Games were pretty much full price too. Fair play on the refunds, I guess they don't want potential google customers for upcoming projects to be burned by this experience.

Probably simple man maths - cost of being evil vs. cost of doing the right thing.

Still, a lot of people posting here don't understand what Stadia was.

There was a subscription model and there was also the ability to purchase games. You could play online multiplayer without a sub. If you claimed the rotating games during your sub, you never lost them.

Of course the games library was nothing compared to Gamepass, but it was a much better model than Gamepass.

I think the point was that anything but a subscription would make sense in this business model. Even PAYG phones have credit expirations.
