while Stadia’s approach to streaming games for consumers was built on a strong technology foundation, it hasn’t gained the traction with users that we expected

Hardly surprising when many of the games were much more than some other platforms, or were utter pants.

I'm a bit gutted as a Founder, but am not shocked.

That's awful generous of them considering it basically lived a life cycle of a typical console, surely there's a cut off for refunds are they really going to refund day 1 purchases ?

Seems like it, yes. And for those sneaky devils (it did cross my mind) who were going to go and buy something now to play it and get their money back, the Stadia store is closed.

I would have thought it to be automatic providing you have a valid payment means on your account.

Almost 4 years and it's time up for Stadia! It's been a bit of a s***-show from the beginning really. I don't think they ever upgraded their server blades even once for developers to use increased power on their games. And Ubisoft are probably feeling like idiots now after they threw a lot of resources at it.

Not surprising really but a little bit sad. I felt it was a solid idea with good hardware. I did enjoy using the service but it never lived up to expectations.

Honestly surprised, makes me think they have something lined up for the future and the hopes is the people shown goodwill like this will be future customers again

Everyone knew this would happen but I'm surprised they continued as long as they did.

Honestly wish people would stop buying their hardware, including their phones. They don't deserve the business or the money with the amount of bugs, service outages and tendency to kill off projects.

I bought the founders edition on day one and subscribed for about a year so didnt buy much software. Ill keep my eye on the refund process though.
