Holy schmackerel, no wonder they're all pivoting away from cloud for now...listen to this - avg power costs per user are in the region of $0.5 per hour!!

They're not though. They are keeping Immersive Stream, which is essentially white label Stadia.

I don't see why this didn't take off to be honest, everything become streamable and the games should have too but never mind. I just hope they do unlock their controllers.

Really? terrible value proposition, tech not there, lack of games, features that never arrived, shuttered studios etc

It launched in the absolute best timeline it could have with lockdown, GPU shortages etc and fell flat on its arse on day 1.

It was DOA.

Well, I'm on the tail end of completing the Doom Eternal campaign.

I've always been a Stadia fan but it really did hit me how amazing the service was yesterday. I purchased MK11 on Steam to play on the Steam Deck and it is a 100GB download! Absolutely insane and really hits home how amazing it was with Stadia to never worry about storage needs.

I couldn't begin to imaging the storage requirements of the servers though.

Just had 3 refunds totalling £135 done by Google for my Stadia games purchased.

Just waiting for the Founder's edition to be refunded.

4 or 5 titles refunded, around £150, all to cards no longer used or a closed PayPal account. I'll wait for their follow up email.

Think I purchased my founders edition from eBay and the white set was a freebie so I've been fully refunded it seems.

Happy to see people getting refunds. I mean I was almost certain it would go down this way. I just thought it would take people's money with it.

Had my refunds over the weekend, honestly would never have expected the money back, so very pleased.

It's a shame, as it was a good service, which I enjoyed.

I have the same problem. cards were old ones.
have added a new card yesterday but dont know what happens next.

I had my first hardware refund come through today. Got another Controller and the initial Premiere Edition to go and that’s me done.

So, I guess my brother bought some using Store Credit, which Google is refunding as store credit. Sounds fair enough. The problem is, they're only giving him until the 16th to use the credit?! They are apparently adamant about it and wont extend it.

I purchased a stadia and chromecast ultra bundle last year that was on offer for £19.99.

I needed to replace a Gen 1 Chromecast at the time so just purchased it. Never used the Stadia service and just kept the controller in the draw to use with my PC.

Refund came through yesterday. :D
