yeah these are meant to be good.

Just upgraded the Firmware on my H3B last night and got the iPhone preview working. Works really well! Too laggy for anything except as a viewfinder but decent nonetheless. Shame you can't play back recorded video on it.
 
Did anyones lenses look a little marked, not scratched or anything, but like a coating didn't go on evenly so it looks like it needs a gentle wipe but you can't clean it? A bit annoying.

2x HERO3 Batteries and Charger

Charger is £15 on its own so £11 for 2 batteries is good even if they last a year!

Cant find no reviews but there's a little snippet here

Just went for the battery in the end. Don't really need the charger, however it would be nice I guess, so you can use the GoPro while other batteries are charging. Nevermind, maybe if I ever need more than 2 batteries I will look at that package :)

Oh, I found a few reviews myself, and the Wasabi brand is loved by lots of people! Especially Samsung owners I found, and some claim that this battery will last longer than the standard GoPro battery!!!

Reviews suggest there's no advantage over the extra 150mah on the Wasabi batteries. But for them to be on par with the GoPro batteries justify the price in my eyes.
 
That package was a cracking deal tbh! If I wanted two batteries it would be the one to go for as you get the charger for £2.

But I'm happy with just a spare battery for now. It will be getting used in the Alps come January, so hopefully use up the 2 batteries during the day and charge them both up overnight :)
 
Actually that charger + 2 batteries isnt a great deal (its still good but not great) as Delivery is £6!!!
How can they justify £6 delivery for 2 batteries and a small charger and free delivery for 1 batterys.

Sods :(
 
You're saving £6 by getting the charger and battery packs over buying 2 batteries and the charger individually.

£33 v £39 :(

It's £28 for the US Amazon pack... decisions... :D

You might get stung for import duty with the purchase from US Amazon.

Personally going by how hot the Hero 3 gets charging a battery I think it will be better to charge the batteries in an external charger.
 
There's a link in the Reddit review to a seller on the bay that is selling 3 batteries, charger and car lead for £20 delivered from Hong Kong...non branded items and delivery is 10-25 days.

Not really an option though is it, so that is a bit of a moot point.

The UK stockist selling them has no stock until after Xmas. Ordering from the US also wouldn't arrive until after Xmas and may also incur customs charges.

So I think that extra £8 for the official battery is hardly breaking me, when I need it.
