GoPro 3

I finally got around to doing something with the footage from my snowboarding holiday in February.

All done with a GoPro Hero3 Black and ContourHD.

Does anyone have any suggestions of reducing wind noise at speed? I stuffed a load of cut up foam in the case behind the camera, but I still get a lot of wind noise as can be heard in this footage I took at the weekend, about 1:30 in. Tips gratefully received:

Are you using the full waterproof case or with the skeleton backing? Wind noise shouldn't be an issue with the full waterproofing case.

It's the full waterproof case with foam stuffed in the case as well. It was worse without the home made foam insert and worse again with the skeleton door naturally.

I'd check ebay Wayn0r for indicative pricing. Or on the MM here.

I can't justify keeping my Black edition. Was hoping to record more than just my holiday but everything is too busy.

I bought myself a Silver and as awesome as I think it is I now wish I had just gone for the Black. I can't do anything about it as I am now in Greece for 5 months :(

On another note, what software would you guys recommend for editing?

Hi guys, i ordered a GoPro which should be here today, i to was wondering what PC software you use to make these videos?

Hey sorry for a slight thread hijack - but I appreciate any input if you don't mind.

I'm borrowing a GoPro 3 'Black' for my holiday in 2 weeks, I intend to take it scuba diving, I'll pick up a wrist strap in the next week or so.

The case says Watertight to 60m....has anyone ever put this to the test? I intend on taking it down to approx 30m but I want to be sure :)

Thanks in advance!
Jake

GoPro do a dive housing too Jake, take a look at that if you've got cash to spend, you can also get various dive filters.
Dive Housing

I'd trust GoPro's recommendation of 60m so 30m should be just fine...

IMPORTANT: Make 100% sure that the white seal around the housing is completely clean and free of debris though :)

Edit: Actually ignore me... due to the Hero3's flat lens on the housing there's no need for the dive housing on the Hero3. Unless you really wanted to of course.

Thanks mate, appreciate the info. So the standard one should be alright, I just need a wrist strap. Dad also has a chest strap which I'm going to give a go but I'm not sure how effective it'll be. Hopefully I'll be able to use the same wrist strap to strap it to the BCD.

Should be fun either way :D

What I'd prefer to you would be a small monopod with a tripod mount (can make yourself easily if you don't want to buy the GoPro one)... as long as you can find a monopod that would be ok with a bit of water... can't see a problem.

The trouble with the wrist housing from what I've read is it's a bit limited to the direction you can have the housing...
