Gothic 3

God that looked awful - especially the comical ending :p

But on the other hand, I've lived through worse bugs in RPGs :)

There was a random bug in G1 that gave me 1600 sets of materials for forging swords. T'was cool - I traded them for everything every NPC had :p

Has this been released in the uk yet, yesterday I went to 2 chain game shops and neither had it and I went to a large national pc store today and they did not have it either.

yeah its released... my copy arrived today from the wellknown Jersey-based distributer.

This game runs VERY badly....

Stuttering , jerkyness ... Mini freeze ups when it loads a new area ... game sometimes stalls when swinging the camera around... Stuttery when using the torch or the flame spell.

IF all that was fixed this game would be goty for me :(

Only played for 2 minutes, but I can't find any way of enabling AA, can anyone help?

Running a xp3200, 6800NP and 1.5g ram...

Gah, I also get an error when trying to install the dx update, and huge black patches of missing graphics in the game...

I had never played a Gothic game before I got Gothic 3 yesterday.
I was hoping it would be something like a cross between Oblivion and Severance: BOD, and in some ways it is mostly like Oblivion and nothing like Severance.
Graphics do look pretty good, although not as good as Oblivion.
The problem is that it is choppy with varying framerates for what seems like no apparent reason.
The game and camera movement is not as solid and secure as what severance was :(
Like as been said before, I think the sounds are somewhat lacking, you can hear the grunting and groaning sounds when attacking :o , but no sounds whatsoever when you strike or kill someone/something
Maybe I'll turn some of the settings away from High, and see if it is better, aswell as giving it a bit of time for me to get used to and progress a bit. :)

Severance = best Fantasy game ever - there should have been a sequel.

I too was hoping for much more from this game, Gothic 2 was amazing. This game however as said before is very stuttery out in the world, also the combat is ridiculous, if a boar or other animal gets one attack vs u they then batter you and u either die or lose most of your hp.

I have shield parry and put up my shield to block them, yet they still hit as normal!! The key to success is to mash your fast attack key and pray they dont get an attack in  I hope it improves as it goes on but atm im not overly impressed. The audio ( speech and music) is excellent though and adds a lot of atmosphere.

Buggiest most unoptimized game i have EVER played

Uuuugh this game is buggy, very unoptimized and stutters something awful from time to time. So why is it that i can't stop playing it ?

It's probably because it's got that ' damit i'm going to master you or die trying' feeling, in short it's a real challange. You have to use different tactics to defeat you enemies and at low levels your going to come across mobs you can't defeat.

The voice acting is very good and the game already IMHO beats Oblivion on gameplay and combat, it's just the graphic engine needs to be tuned up and bugs squashed.

Oh and 2 Gb of ram would probably help smooth out the texture thrash on the hard drive.

So yep i'm disapointed that it's not really in a fit state to play yet but i hope they will patch it up over time. So it a keeper for me.

Good job that both Dark messiah and Neverwinter 2 are released soon so i can get my teeth into them as well. Can't remember the last time i had three games on the go at the same time.
