I'm ****** off as my copy has not arrived and it was posted yesterday. Twice in a row now with pre-orders not arriving early. So much for frigging useless royal mail first class delivery.

Absolutely great game!

my views,

im not sure if its a keeper yet,

nice graphics,

clumsy controls.
sound is really poor, i think so anyways.

will give it more of a chance over the weekend, but keeps crashing out on me, thats with the patch installed.

Maybe Dark Messiah is more my kinda game, guess its the controls that are really bugging me.

All sounds pretty promising so far :)

In /re to the clumsy controls. From what I recall of G1 and G2, the controls, fighting especially, improve later on. When you're using a weapon you're not trained in you swing it awkwardly and can't really do much with it. Once you reach master level with that weapon, you're character is much faster and more responsive. Might be worth sticking with it until you've advanced that a bit.

Stick with it, as I remember I also at first hated the controls on the other games and by the end was loving them. The old games gave you a sense of accomplishment as you progressed.

How do the graphics and environments compare to Oblivion. I don't mean the engine but rather the creation of believable varied environments. All areas in Oblivion look the same and there is not much contrast. Environments look like they were created on program that randomly generates landscapes using the same elements - if you know what I mean.

the official gothic forum is down.

too many people complaining about poor running of the game.

I think I'll treat my rig to another gb ram.

<Sin316> i just read something on a german forum
<Sin316> they checked the g3 dvd
<Sin316> and the date from the files
<Sin316> are from 22.09 (sept. 22nd)
<Sin316> which was even before the 2nd gold master was rlsed
<Sin316> thats why bugs that were in the first one, and supposebly fixed in the second, are still in the retail version
