GP2 & GP3 2013 Season

Good race, Leimer having a fairly easy driving the end.

Great first GP2 race from Rossi managed to hold on for a podium in his debut. Not so great a first race from Frijns.

Exciting right down to the finish... Dillmann will start reverse grid pole tomorrow.
 
Good stuff from Rossi, now perhaps people will stop ****ging off American drivers :p

Leimer and Coletti now tied for the lead on 54 points, Nasr third with 36. Calado now down to joint 4th with Palmer on 18.
 
With GP3 starting too (are we just using this thread for that too? I don't think it will be too cluttered) there is a fair amount of racing to watch this weekend so I have had check what time each thing is on, thought i'd post for anyone else that's interested...

GP2

Qualifying- Fri 2:50pm
Feature Race- Sat 2:35pm
Sprint Race- Sun 9:30am


GP3

Qualifying- Sat 8:40am
Race 1- Sat 4:15pm
Race 2- Sun 8:20am


Think that is all right... apologies if not and you miss something you want to watch :p
 
I'll ask a mod to change the title and make it a GP2 & 3 thread, as its fairly quiet and stops the thread disappearing. If it picks up then can always split it :)

Even with stringent FIA regulations, there's a pecking order of sorts in these series. Carlin dominated British Formula 3 for example. ART in GP3. Trident are generally a mid-pack GP2 team. Obviously it could be said that the best funded and staffed teams also seek the best drivers, but having a well prepared car is a definite factor.

Will certainly be interesting in the coming races, there seems to be some good young drivers around at the moment.

I guess the hope for Frijns is that he is already in with Sauber, which should help his future progression.
 
Nice 4th place from Jon Lancaster as well in his first start. Not sure what's wrong with Calado, that's the second time he's eliminated himself on lap 1 this season.
