GP2 & GP3 2013 Season

Cecotto - that was a bit of a moron's move...

Then chaos ensued...

Cecotto needs to sit out a weekend for that. They need to nail someone to show they have the balls to punish moronic driving, that should stop it coming through to F1.

I wouldn't want to be racing in Venezuela going by the 'moves' their supposed best drivers pull off!

That race was dull as anything till all of a sudden it turned into a demolition derby on the last lap!

Dillman had a great race. Shame about the couple of clashs/mistakes.

The Russian Time team are really impressing for a new team.

Dillmann certainly had an interesting Feature race.

Russian Time do seem to have a pretty good set up, I think they have a good couple of racers which helps an awful lot.

Just caught up with the Sprint... Cecotto really is a bit of an idiot.

Good weekend all round for Frijns, impressive stuff.

Nasr up there yet again too.

24 laps of nothing, then 2 laps of carnage. Whist only a small move by Cecotto, it shows an intent and a mindset that has no place on a race track.

He didn't force him off the track, or collide, or directly cause an accident. There wasn't really anything to refer to the stewards.

I notice F1 fans are clamouring for penalties these days, what happened to "racing incident"? The 'races' are boring processions as it is. Watching someone driving the track might be entertaining for some, but I prefer to see racing against other competitors. In that respect, MotoGP, Nascar and Indycar have been leagues better.

This wasn't a racing incident. It was an angry jink towards someone because he was annoyed at being overtaken, and from a guy with a reputation of pushing people off the track out of spite.

Close racing is great, but there's no place in racing for people who get the red mist.

Same guy who did this:

Your earlier post suggested otherwise. I did point out an actual crash caused by poor driving though - plenty of hot headed young drivers in GP2 making bad moves.

This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IunUPrEBp2k earned a penalty because it was careless by Berthon, so it's not like the FIA don't penalise drivers when they see fit.

Theres always plenty of crashes in GP2 through drivers having brain farts, its part of what makes it fun to watch.

But Cecotto seems to make moves intently. His move yesterday didn't directly cause a crash, but it showed a glimpse into how he thinks. Deliberately malicious moves need to be stamped out before they cause a massive accident.

I think the worry is if drivers are getting away with acting like that, that other drivers follow on and it becomes the norm. GP2 already has a reputation for aggressive racing but if they all start pulling out moves like that as they think they can get away with it too, it could get messy.
