I think I’ve got ptsd from S10 :D

120 miles driven of Spa and only 3 or 4 complete laps as I went off on all the rest. Still the last one got me the gold so that’s gold on all the licences for me. Which also thankfully means I don’t have to touch another licence test.

Time to focus on the challenges and cage books.

Yes I had a Sunday drive in that Spa Porsche 917 to complete, anything else and one damp patch = spin off.

I finished up the rest of the licences yesterday, decided not to get stressed and settle for silver or bronze to be done with it :o
All cafe menu's finished, just the missions to go, where I think any pass will suffice.

I made it this far having only bought two cars after the starter one.
One because I needed a truck for a cafe menu race series, and the other because i didn't want to muller my classic Ferrari 288 beyond a few light upgrades and it wasn't fast enough for the Ferrari races.
So I bought an F8 Tributo and fitted a power restrictor and aero ;)

Another tip for the dirt race menu, do the road one in say a Nissan R35 GTR to win the Ford Focus Rally, then you can use that for the 2 dirt races with a swap of tyres (odd that the rally cars don't come supplied with dirt tyres !).

I assume you're alterash? If not I have no idea who I accepted!

Did some more online races yesterday and the tuning just annoys me more. I find I'm ending up in positions where some of the cars around me are there purely because of their tune but they don't have the skill to use the car so it's just cars pinging off each other while the 1 person that can tune and drive has sailed off in to the distance.

Is anyone able to tell me how I can track my stats so I can see when I might get into some better lobbies. I'm hoping there will be some daily's where everyone has the same car or something that is locked.

I was tempted to do something similar and settle for not gold. But then my second completed lap was only 4tenths off gold and it was going to annoy me then if I didn’t get it. I just didn’t expect it to take another half hour and countless attempts before I’d actually complete another lap.

I’ve bought a few more cars than that but good tips regarding the rest.
 
Anyone else had issues where a race just wont load with a certain car? Been few random times its done it now

Screen is just at the loading / prize car...you can press X and get the confirm tone but nothing else. Requires a restart of the game :(
 
Liking the Amemiya (sp?) RX7 at the moment. Really twitchy even with good racing tyres.

edit. I’ve checked twice. But in the car settings tab it says it can have an even bigger turbo than the largest you can buy. Wonder if that is a wheel spin part ??

Not got round to getting an RX7 yet, does the have show you to upgrade the sequential turbo setup or is it just replace with a single turbo.

If you need, tell me what car and PP you want it at, including any rules (must be sport tyres etc) or whatever required for the lobby, and if I have the car or its not beyond my budget I can work you a build out and let you know what it needs over msg or coms or whatever. PSN ID is: Majikthese.

Edit: May also try some online this evening, see what cars/pp I need.
 
I tried the online stuff just now, did the Race A twice, I picked the Honda Fit as that's what I went with at the start (I think...).

Did a bit of mild tuning (think air filter and ecu got to 147bhp exactly, then some clutch/brake pads. Went in and was able to do ~1:44/45's ended up a comfortable 3rd, the top two went flying off right at the start and I was marginally quicker than 4th.

Decided the issue was the gearing primarily but also went a bit crazy with the weight, so did the stage 1 lightening but that made it 993Kg so used ballast to up it to the 1000kg, and fitted the fully customisable gearbox. The car is way quicker now and did a 1:37 in the qualifying time trial, but what I didn't figure out is that it's a hybrid so once you're past the first lap or so and lose that extra boost it's way slower... I came 5th in that race with all 4 ahead were Aqua's... not sure if that's the car to go for or just a coincidence...

Also did IA-6, way less annoying than IA-5, and the first set of missions which seemed largely pointless :p

Cheers, I was just using the Aqua for Daily A. I just did the Super_GT thing of putting all the "Racing" category parts on it and then used the power restrictor to knock it down to 147. That took me to a 1:37 and I know if I hooked a lap up a bit tidier I have a least a low 1:36 in it but not sure if at this point if there is anything specific I'm meant to be tweaking.
 
Completely stuck on international b 10 at trail mountain, 0.2 off gold and can't seem to do anymore on controller.
Going to plug in the fanatec see how it is, was hoping controller would be fine and flog the wheel.
 
It's very strange. I thought a wheel would be better for me but it seems to give me too much control. Sounds mental but in certain situations I prefer the narrower band of control from a pad. Example:

License A-9 30 fails on wheel. Switch to pad and got gold on 3rd attempt :confused:.
