Gran Turismo 7

How can I lower up points already got power restrict at 70 percent

The programmable ECU can drop power 70% on top of the 70% power restrictor, i used both on the Porsche 917 to drop around 400hp. Ballast to add weight and worse tyres.

I just have 3x 20-30 min races from the last 2 missions left to do, then everything is gold :)

Not that it means anything but the game has been review bombed on metacritic. What is wrong with gamers these days or am I just getting old lol?

The game just has some issues that rub up a lot of people the wrong way. I'm enjoying it still but only playing a couple of hours every few days, so many games to play right now

- Lacking content, pop out the cafe races and there's obviously missing content, later license types with no or little race series using them
- Cafe book progression system isn't very good, gets in the way a lot and very different to earlier games
- Earlier races (cafe section) is just 3 laps start at the back overtaking simulator, you need a car way over spec to the AIs cars to basically make up 5-10s per lap then overtake for free, it's just not a rewarding driving experience
- Cars are more expensive than in previous games, earning money is greatly reduced than previous games, can't sell cars, game is much more grindy if you want to complete the full collection
- Micro transactions, most will ignore but some won't, it's a form of pay to win as it can greatly reduce the time required to clear content and be competitive in MP
- Legendary dealer only offers limited quantity of very desirable cars at huge prices, linked to real life markets. Linked with the limited ability to earn money really annoys people. A lot of gamers play to get away from some of life's issues, not to be chucked back in to stuff like this. Basically rich people can just chuck money at the game like in real life and buy stuff up
- AI is still dumb, main thing is it will pit manoeuvre you way too much. Specific situations it will react to your position, in other situations it will ignore you and just go for racing line
- Always online, this is to stop people save file hacking and stuff like that but means the game is ruined if they have server issues. Can't play on bad connections etc. Very anti consumer really for a game with specific split out SP / MP areas
- MP is kinda locked behind the SP system, need specific cars to compete as there will always be meta cars, sucks if you only care about MP
- PP system is currently broken, it can be tricked when tuning in ways it's obviously not designed to allow
- Some MP game balance stuff they will most likely fix over time like specific hybrid cars having unfair advantage in shorter sprint racing (think it was last weeks races)

Sony issues outside their control
- PS4 compatible racing wheels etc no longer compatible. Some people have hundreds to thousands of pounds of sim racing kit that no longer works with the PS5 version of the game. All the old Xbox kit still works fine with their latest console
- PSN sub just sucked compared to xbox sub
- Game prices are stupid compared to other platforms

It's just a lot of issues, some minor, some major depending on who you are. Really it should have been a lot better from a first party PS dev. Another 3-6 months in the oven would have fixed a lot of this

I've now got gold on all licenses and missions. I found the Moby Dick passing mission in the GT-R GT500 by far the most annoying of the lot.

5x Menu books to complete, then i'll probably just play Sport mode until more content is added.

Having to start last for rolling starts in every race gets annoying quickly. It wouldn't be so bad if it was mix of rolling and grid starts, or if you could qualify for the rolling start. But every race is just a long over taking challenge.

I don't know how you've got gold so quick! I've done (Gold) the first S License and moved onto the missions as I could see them being stressful. Fully did the 1st and 2nd lot but on the 3rd group, the one where your in the SLR on the 'ring I just can't do. the AI just don't detect I'm there and driving into me as I'm going by and cause a retry.

I genuinely also don't understand why this game even has a 'dirt' mode. The physics are so broken for it it becomes a gamble if you're gonna stick the landing or if it's just gonna shoot you off at 90 degrees in to the closest barrier. They are easily the worst part of the game for me.

If that's the one where you start at the start line of the Ring, you have to go up the inside of the first car under braking at the end of the 1st long sweeping bend (you can touch sides), then you can get past the next two cars in the corners (i think the 2nd car on braking into the first chicane) and be on the back of the last car as it gets onto the short run the the finish line. It took a lot of attempts!

------------------------

I noticed in a few of these missions the AI does different things in different 'versions' of the mission. The wind speed/direction at the start seems to be an indicator for that, backing out to the menu and going back in changes it.

The GT-R one i was stuck on you have to get into 2nd or 3rd place into a hard braking zone overtaking a GR4 Porsche and GR3 NSX (i think) in one version the NSX overtakes the Porsche so already 2 wide as you try to get down the inside. In another version the NSX stays back, then overtakes on the next corner.

Yeah, that's the one. It's the second car that always gets me. I've a had few runs where as I approach it, it just seems to loose control so I end up stuck behind it or it dives into me while correcting itself. I'm sure I'll get it, it's just really frustrating as it feels like it's oblivious to me being there.

The 2nd one you have to overtake on the left, just before braking for the first chicane, 2 wheels on the curb, almost touching the car. If you get past that car then, there is space on the inside of the 3rd car when you catch it, if not you get stuck behind it for a few corners and cant get 1st.

Cheers, I might give it a try later. You doing either Manufacturer or Nations cup things on Sport mode? I was going to give the nation one a go and try and practice the MX5 on Tsukuba see how I can do.

No probs. Yeah i'm going to give one of those cups a go, not sure which yet. I may be able to make the last races on office days.

Thank you. Over powered my ferrari for the menu book races

So I’ve been loving this game over the last few weeks so have bought a G29. £185 unopened with cosmetic damage seemed the best I could get it for. Now looking for a stand and seat. Has anyone used something like the Next Level Racing F-GT Lite? A foldable solution would be ideal.

I agree. Rolling starts are by far the worst part of the game. Why not have qualifying sessions on just the championships and then grid starts
