Gran Turismo 7

I think there's been a couple not long after the game came out but always seem to have less and less people turn up. I'd be down for another one though :)

I know when I arranged one we had a mix of OCUK and FG but if you're interesting in private racing, we're setting up our winter league which will probably start next month: https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/9783-gt7-winter-fg-league/ It's all a bit of fun and we don't take it too seriously with stewards enquiries and reports etc. more work on gentlemanly ideals of giving places back and for fun :) But the more the merrier if you want to join :)
Nice one thanks for that.

@CaptainFail!

That time was a bitch to beat.
But like Toretto said... doesnt matter if you win by an inch or a mile... winnings winning :D

0.009 difference :p

10 hours to go :D

Gah I thought I’d set a lap you possibly couldn’t beat :D congrats and I hope you enjoyed the challenge! I’ll get you on the next one

I’ve not been on over the past few days as my partner went into labour with our second child during the early hours of Monday morning. We welcomed a little girl Tuesday evening and got home late Wednesday.

Not going to have as much time to play for a while but I’ll do what I can :D

Hehe well in that case I consider you the winner bud. Many congratulations on the new little one :)
I think youll be needing sleep every spare minute you have for the time being :)

GT7 and us we'll be here waiting :) Congrats again buddy.

New borns are when you have more gaming time ;) Congrats mate

Just out of interest, has anyone ever won anything other than the lowest coins option on the roulette thingy on this game??
It's shocking isn't it, I got the odd gold bar when I did that glitch ages ago, but that was just from opening hundreds of the roulette things. I will never get enough coin to get all the cars, unfortunately. They are far too tight.

I'd sort of expected they'd have turned the game around after a few months, but it seems they've not been doing much?
Such a wasted opportunity, not really deserving of a mainline numbered entry.

Hoping people are learning from the mistakes the competition is making, and the next Forza game comes out and is fun first, marketplace second.

Hi all,

Come back to play GT7 on my PS5 and seem to be really struggling with most of the PP limited races. I know the PP races are not a new feature as they were in GT6 but I'm struggling to win, AI cars are just flying way ahead of me. I've tried a few different ways to tune car as close to the PP limit and still the same issue.

What do other think? Any tips?

Thanks!

Is it possible to view the duplicate cars you have? I just wasted 500k on a vehicle in the Legend Cars because the little blue 'acquired' icon wasn't showing  (and still isn't), so I bought a car I'd got months ago. There was talk of being able to sell cars, too. Hopefully, they will bring this in.

There do seem to be certain races were the AI are miles ahead and it takes a whole race of good qualifying pace laps to catch them and win. As I've played this game more, the more I hate the rolling starts and the 30-40 second spread of cars and you're always at the back... I'd much rather grid starts and all cars with tighter PP for close racing and a more satisfying race!

I don't spend a lot of time tuning personally, I prefer to concentrate on knowing the circuits well for minimum lap time. Having a fast car is great but if you're off constantly off the racing line, braking too early/late or in the gravel traps it's not much use
:p
a 10-15 minute time trial on a circuit you're not familiar with will do wonders keeping your pace up during actual races.

As for tuning, for road cars, I tend to just do some basics like weight reduction, suspension, softer tyres, better brakes and maybe basic engine tuning like air filters, ECUs, exhausts etc to boost BHP for higher speed circuits. Low speed/twisty circuits would probably benefit from low weight, aero, sticky tyres and close gear ratios.

Race cars are a little harder to tune as in their standard form have customisable parts installed already, weight reduction gains will be minimal and you'll be racing cars of similar tune so it's harder to gain advantage. I'd tune based on circuit in these cases. For twisty tracks add downforce, make gear ratios close and choose a car that's as low in weight as possible. Maybe even choose a 4WD car for a twisty circuit for maximum traction on corner exits. High speed circuits are obviously were raw BHP would benefit so a car's weight isn't too much of an issue and choose based on BHP and remove downforce to increase straight line performance.

You probably know all of the above already so probably not much help
:p
which races in particular are you struggling with? Some of them are a real pain and ones I haven't won first time have taken me a few attempts or switching cars to suit circuits better etc. Even just seeing what the fastest AI are driving can help win the races. I definitely think you're sometimes racing AI that have a big advantage in some way either due to low weight, BHP or the tyres the car has installed as standard.

Not that I'm aware of? I can only suggest to view your garage and sort by manufacturer to see if you have multiple listed that way. Is the 'acquired' icon missing a known bug? I've not encountered it yet personally.

There's plenty of talk (or moaning :p) about how they haven't yet added the feature to sell cars. It's not a feature I'm bothered about really but can see why it would be good to gain some credits back for cars you don't want or use.

I'm slowly trying to acquire all the cars, not sure I'll do it before the next release! But any duplicates I have, mainly from cars I have won in the daily mile rewards, I'd sell them and get more credit.

The Dior car, for example, in the Legend Cars for sale, doesn't have an icon for acquired/not acquired (little blue book appears when you have the car), hence me making a mistake; I assume I've done it before!

The fact that we're on to GT7 and they're still doing rolling starts, is just depressing.
Wasn't part of the initial reason for rolling starts for all races years and years back, to avoid excessive tyre smoke bogging down performance?

Ive never used the tuning part that come from the tickets, what are they good for? Is it just for messing around or can they be used for online racing etc?
Ive must amassed so many tuning parts but Ive never touched them.
