*** Grand Theft Auto IV - In-Game Chat [Spoilers] ***

Anyone else concerned about the frame rate ?

Can get a bit choppy in places. Other than that - very good. Love the physics, really compliment the game.

Love it when you come through the windscreen when you crash!!!

Also spent about half an hour in side splitting laughter knocking the first girlfriend over in the bowling alley. Somehow it manages to kill her if you do it enough. I dont know why it was so funny. There weren't even any drugs involved either.

Yay, about time - it could be a real pain in previous GTAs to drive miles to start again, or to save when low on health etc.

So are there still safehouses in the game? Can you still buy properties etc?

There is still safehouses that you can save at, but you dont buy them, they are just sort of assigned, ive got 2 so far, they arent as many as the others but obviously since you dont have to save its only really for changing clothes or if you want to save not doing missions, you always restart after even a quicksave when you turn on, back at your safehouse rather than where you left off.

Who's currently got the 360 version? Played online yet?

- 8 player party matchmaking against other parties (servers offline currently)
- Traffic/Cops/Peds all in multiplayer, each can be set to Off, Low, Medium, High etc
- Proximity voice chat when near opposing team can be toggled
- You can use your phone to phone other players for a private chat, then hang up when done
- Multiplayer has been pretty much lag free even with 14 player or so matches
- Framerate chugs quite a lot when in multiplayer

A quick questions about the 360 version (before I go off and try to find somewhere selling it early!)

Does it have a custom radio station - which uses the music stored on the 360 HardDrive? (ie the music ripped from CD). I had GTA3 on the PC, and having the custom radio station was great as I had filled the folder for that with MP3.

I understand you have posted a spoiler warning but please, please, please don't post about the story line. Try and stick with game play.

Shooting and driving takes a bit of time to get used to. Same for working out the cover system. Sometimes it doesn't want to switch targets :s

Love the circle around the area police are searching and the GPS to help you find your way around. It's not perfect, sometimes you can find quicker routes by going through parks, etc but it works.

Handbrake in the cars are extreme! Pull it and just go down the road spinning. So much for turning corners at speed.

It's fairly easy to out run cops if they see you rob a car (1 star) but if you shoot a cop (2 stars) the circle gets a lot bigger. Still easy enough to get away but takes more time. Funny seeing the star get added when you drive through a toll booth without paying. Last time I done it I was being chased by a helicopter!

Blowing the headlights on the cars can be annoying at night. Cannot see a bloody thing.

Graphically, the game seems a bit dull and dark. It can be hard to spot people in warehouse missions. Might try upping the contrast a bit.

Waiting until tuesday but I go online with it, or even sign back in to PSN.

I found it a bit dark till i upped the brightness in game, although i do believe the colour to be a bit down on the ps3 version.

Is it possible that framerates will improve with patch(es)?

I know that's the case on PC but dont know how effective that is with consoles.

I wouldn't worry about the framerate dipping occasionally in this sort of game. AFAIK all the console GTA games in the past have had the same issues.

I have a question which in game i have yet to answer...

I read that there is no custom radio station but you can buy an MP3 player in game to access the 360 HDD music you have?

I still think Saints Row is better then this...

Not seen anything about that.

But in the US, Rockstar have partnered with Amazon, so MP3 of song tracks from the radio stations can be purchased via the mobile phone ingame, then you get the download links to get them.

Have you played GTA IV? I'm wondering because you are commenting on how good it is to play, yet asking whether it has custom soundtracks.

I have yea, but im not amazingly far into the story line, and like getting weapons wasnt sure if you can get the ability to by an MP3 player later in the game :)

Also im commenting on how its not that great and pretty average :p hehe
