*** Grand Theft Auto IV - In-Game Chat [Spoilers] ***

Oh sorry. I forgotten about that. I only played SA for about 3 or 4 hours and got bored. Over complicated things so I prefer the way GTA IV and VC are.

I never seen the parachutes in VC either so I'm guessing that was a SA feature too.

They have stripped out the RPG elements.

I personally didnt like that part of san andreas but there is less depth to the game as a result, and obviously less customisation, i understand why they did it, because of the cut scenes.

Don't the cutscenes use the game engine though? Like with previous GTAs? In SA your character appeared in the cutscenes as he did in the game, just how you'd customised him.

I personally liked the RPG elements from SA but I know not everyone did.

can someone do a mini review of whats left out and whats new? (e.g. no bodybuilding? no markmanship skills?)

On metacritic its apparently got 100 review score. Is it really this good?

got sum extra money this month so i might buy the 40gig ps3 back again.. but really it would be for this game only. (original plan was to get ps3 when a new rpg for it came out)

You are correct, mark is wrong.

Cut scenes are clearly rendered in game and items or clothes you have on you are rendered correctly rather that reverting to a generic outfit which you would get with pre rendered scenes.

Based on four reviews, two of them from IGN :p And presumably they only got the exclusive early online review by agreeing to be gushing about it.

It's a certainty that most places will give it 90-100%. Anything else would be unthinkable. I'm just waiting to read player reviews next week which should give a true picture :)

Anyone found the comedy club yet? I've read that theres a Ricky Gervais cameo there...

What I'm reading about this game is making me want to buy a PS3/360, trouble is I don't know which!

I would review it at around 5/6 or out 10 - seems a step down from previous games, lack of customization = thumbs down (i know you can customize some elements... but not enough imo)

If I was scoring it I would give it 12/10 - I think it's absolutely bloody brilliant. Yeah ok, they have cut some of the pointless stuff out like the RPG elements and the parachutes, but the amount of extra stuff added is brilliant. The more I play this game the more I love it; it just keeps on getting better and better imo.

Niko is one of the best GTA characters to date and his character has quite a lot of depth too - you actually end up feeling sorry for him sometimes. Multiplayer so far is awesome too.

^ but whats new ? It even seems to have the old gta bugs of things getting stuck in walls and people reacting oddly/not reacting to things

How are people finding Niko's accent? Is Eastern European not a bit grating?

I know in SA I found CJ's quips hilarious, but I'm not sure Niko is as likeable...

Gotta agree. In missions where you need to work with another NPC (non-player character) they can sometimes walk across tables instead of around them, get stuck on doorways, etc.

Hopefully this bug will be fixed with an update though.

So far I'd say better than SA but not as good as VC. I enjoyed VC the most at the end though and I'm yet to play MP so this could all change.
