*** Grand Theft Auto IV - In-Game Chat [Spoilers] ***

Played about 5 hours so far and love it, just switched the car view to first-person in car and I nearly wet myself. That view alone would make me want to give it 10/10
 
Game is good, been playing on my friends copy. Driving isnt the best but with the in-car view its much more manageable. Darts, Pool and Bowling are awesome though.
 
Question:


Whats the deal with that thing in the taxi?

Was watching some one play and they where scrolling through a list of places... does it just show up on the map with the best route if you are driving or does it auto drive you there?

Can you get taxis from place to place? i.e. to the local bowling alley?

if you get into the taxi mid mission, it will show the objective marker as yellow in the list of places. you can watch while they drive, make them speed up or press X to go somewhere instantly..good if you cant be bothered driving 5 mns or so.
 
One thing I have always wanted to see in GTA is police doing you for speeding or reckless driving, they only go after you if you bump them, steal a car or run someone over.

The old game Mafia was like that, IIRC. I think it would ruin GTA because half of the fun is driving around recklessly. Having a speedo and having to look for speed limit signs etc. would get boring quick...

Someone on another forum reckons it looks sharper in SD, ironically. Presumably because as it is using a lower resolution, it doesn't require so much hardware power, so can utilise higher quality textures or whatever.

Im stuck (well failed twice), where you go into a warehouse to get something, then theres loads of guys come and attack you when you pick up the thing, you definetly have to be a bit less gung ho, it does seem to me though that enemies respawn sometimes.
