*** Grand Theft Auto IV - In-Game Chat [Spoilers] ***

Well, not saying the PS3 is graphically superior but being able to guarantee the end user has a hard drive, or even a high capacity media (Bluray), would make a big difference to how you approach developing the game. That's not taking anything away from the game, but it does seem from early reviews and comments that elements of it appear last-gen graphically.

I remember there being talk during development about how the limited disk space was presenting problems for Rockstar, I was hoping they might have ended up developing two branches of the game - one for the PS3 and one for Xbox. I guess that's not financially viable though.

(FWIW I have no agenda to push - I own neither console and I've played on both at friends houses)

[*]Why are police so dumb? You escape an area where they chase you and suddenly you have 0 stars. I guess this is to make the game more manageable
[*]Not much interaction with citizens walking around
[*]Graphics can look last gen sometimes
[*]Missions can be easy, can feel invincible hiding behind walls
[*]Err I'm nitpicking[/LIST]I would place this game in my Top 10 of all time, it's

I'd add tee few NPC cars and people and that the game is far too easy now.

Yeah, the missions are quite easy (I did put it in my points :)). Just hide behind a wall and shoot, lose next to 0 health. The Bank Job I hardly lost any health, just hide and run, same with all the "gung ho missions" (going into warehouses and killing 100s of guys).

Yeah, it is fun and far more accessible for the newbies but I'd appreciate a bit more of a challenge.

I hope near the end it gets really difficult as the guys really have little AI (they follow the same script, they hide for 2 seconds then show themselves for 2 seconds, they don't really find new hiding locations etc, which makes them easy to kill) The autoaim is a bit annoying, you can use it to find out where everyone is in a room without even entering, which spoils the surprises.

I got three stars after the Snow mission (doesn't involve snow, that's just part of the mission name) and with all the cops ramming in to your car the FPS can take a noticeable hit. Mainly happens when you're smashing through other cars that are on the road while they're chasing you.

Just doing a test with my 60GB, launch model, PS3 the game takes 1min 40s from the time the Playstation 3 logo appears (basically after I click the logo on the XMB) to me standing in the safe house ready to move around. There are usually zero loading screens during gameplay, except the odd cut scene which takes 1 to 5 seconds to load.

I'd say I'm just under half way through the main missions (not on my main account as I was playing on a temporary account before which I also let my flatmates play on so it has a lot more progress) and the difficulty doesn't really increase as you get access to better weapons and vehicles.

The auto aim is pants. Occasionally it would make my character spin 180 degrees when I'm trying to aim at someone in front of me.

I'm about 45% there, finally the missions are paying better money. Is there any proper real estate in the game? All I see is every so often you get a safehouse by decisions in the game (eg Playboy X) and Roman randomnly buying one.

yea im lazy and cab a lot too! :D - i get to my destination, get out of the cab and thensteal it so i have a car ready :D

Im still finding it hard to get into the game, although the story is better then previous GTA games, i find the movement of Niko a bit "clunky" and the missions, bar a few are all very much the same as well, not just within this GTA but previous - go here kill that person, go there steal that car.

I realise there is only so much you can do anyway - but i find playing on and off for about 30mins at a time is all i can manage (except for my initial 3 hour stint) - keep playing UEFA Euro 2008 instead :p
