Well it doesn't look like mine will be delivered today, as I am unable to track it because it hasn't even made it to the mail centre yet.

Looks like I will be going to the midnight launch and will end up with 2 copies for the 360. I will definitely have some LAN action on the 2nd 360 (I will FORCE my GF to play it with me) before I sell the 2nd copy :)

Chances are that you will only see that kind of pop-up if you have a dodgy DVD drive. I used to see the same thing in Saints Row on my old 360, you would stop, car disapears and you are left sitting in mid-air. You could then hear the DVD spinning down as it tried to seek to the correct point before speeding up again.

It was about two months later when playing BioShock that my DVD drive finally died and was unable to read game data without freezing for 5 minutes.

I went out and got an Elite and the pop-up in Saints Row almost vanished completely and textures would load faster in BioShock.

Likewise with Forza 2. My DVD drive eventually died. New drive works flawlessly so far.

to be honest, after being i nthe GTA community for 8 years, a bit of pop-up and a few bugs are what I have come to epxect from a GTA game. both systems with have more or less equal qualities. I doubt it's really worth going out to buy a PS3 for, esp if you have a 360 already. The only game I want for PS3 is Prologue/GT5 anyway and I love my 360. So if it suffers from pop-up, so be it.

It is a shame Microsoft shot themsevles in the feet by trying to cut the console cost at launch to keep the PS3 at bay, for the PS3 to be delayed and really expensive anyway. It's only a small difference but would give developers a much easier time with file compression and texture detail.
 
hmm. My GTA4 was dispatched on the 24th, however, the tracking number isn't even live yet. Whats the dealio with that?

EDIT: OHHH HOW WRONG! They lied about shipping it on the 24th! It now says shipped on the 28th. Thats just low!

Thats so they can take your money before they even send the game. They did the same to me its either that or Royal Mail's online tracking system is carp. :)

Unlucky dude. Hopefully mine should arrive tomorrow, can't wait.

I've been playing SA all weekend just to get me in the mood.
 
I've stupidly pre-ordered my copy from a popular gaming shop/franchise that is unfortunately inside a shopping centre- they're "not confirming they'll be open for the launch tonight"

Have to wait until tomorrow morning me thinks :(

My local one is in a shopping centre as well but they open up one of the doors and just have loads of security to keep everyone in check :)

Have to admit it is flawless on the PS3, no loading, pop-up seems a thing of the past. Never fully eliminated, but I have only noticed it a couple of times, and that's in the 15-16hrs so far.


I woke up early yeaterday and spent an hour driving round the city listening to 'journey' (music off the main trailer that came out). Just an hour driving round enjoying the views, finding good vantage points, and the looking for hookers.

Sorry to rub it in, but the IGN review scores are warranted, this game really is something soo sooo special, I can get lost in it all day and only force myself to come off because my eyes hurt :D

I am slightly worried about this pop up business. It ruined my experience of Saints Row.

To properly get a good opinion on it, we need somebody who has both copies of the game to play them and feedback on it.
 
I've played it on the 360 at my friends as a shop sold it to him early, and I didn't notice any pop-up.

Stop obsessing over it and just enjoy the game, on a related note, the postman was empty handed this morning :(
 
I'm sure it's completely off topic, and not even slightly related to people complaining of popup.. but some DVD drives struggle to read cheap DVDRs or ones written at high speed... like I said.. totally off topic ;)

Forestside or Castlecourt? Im going to Forestside on me way to tech to see if i can grab a copy.
