I agree, once you have the game, the only persons opinion that matters is your own..

I'm still in two minds whether to get it or not... and it's nice to hear different opinions, but I like to put their opinions into context, that is all..

yeah im the same - thats why i only go off reviews form certain sources

truth is - nobody knows how this is going to go down in the long run

look at san andreas - its still one of the most looked up games on google and various games sites - i think gta4 will have similar staying power

after all - its the gameplay and longevity that bring me back - im sure it will be the same for a lot of others
 
I must admit I am a little dissapointed also after waiting so long for it and reading all the near perfect reviews.

It is good but seems too much like the previous ones but that is all you can really expect like Halo 3.
 
I have a copy reserved by a friend at a supermarket.. I think I will just wait and buy that tomorrow. It was really nice of him to do it at all. But I don't know how much longer I can last without playing it. :p I could do an all nighter tonight and have a GTA fest...

What to do...

I will be because I can't be sure when the preorder will arrive. That and it'll give me the joy of telling them where to stick the preordered copy :)
 
Its funny how people get so irate that people dont think its the best game ever.

I do think its great, but i dont sit and play it for 4-5 hours at a time, i play in half hour to an hour chunks before the repetition starts to grate on me and i go back to something else, it keeps drawing me back though, which is what i want in a game.
 
I have to say, I don't think i'll bother pre-ordering a game again. I think the way that companies have handled the release of this game is down right unfair. If the release date was broken, it's broken in my opinion. It shouldn't be one set of rules for some and other rules for the rest. Very unfair.
