*** Grand Theft Auto IV - The Official Thread ***

ive been out and not read through threads im just wondering did anyone pick up a copy late afternoon ?

as 2 of my friends thought why not its worth a try and went and looked in one of the major music/games/dvd stores and they were quite literally packed with stock on ps3 and 360 version.

Taken as isolated examples, no they're not tbh.

But as an environment as a whole, they're excellent.

the environment and sheer amount of detail is great, yes. but it doesnt even look like 720p on my screen and that just isnt right. its very poorly defined and soft all over.

still, i canalmost forgive that because its a lot of fun./ but im not impressed with the sharpness at all.

yeah i got mine today about 4pm (ps3). picked up a copy of wiifit too:)

from what ive seen im going to get bored with it, without doing a single mission we seen great cars and traveled around allot of places, by the looks of it you cant buy houses ? and also there no car modding places like san Andreas ? there seems like there going to be no surprises in it :(, as far as i know anyway, i mean i really hope im wrong.

I am amazed at some of the prices people are paying for gta4 on auction sites, £75.00 for a standard 360 version

Why ?

It will cost, no doubt about it. The question is how much and what we will get for our money, which nobody knows yet.

I suppose it wont be too bad, as long as the price reflects the content being gotten.
So if they charged £10 for it, i'd personally expect a good 3-5 hours worth of decent game play, and a decently sized new area to explore.

To anyone that has explorered the city to a good extent, has anyone spotted anything that could indicate 'drop in' areas for new content?
Like a road that goes off into the skybox, and is blocked in someway, or something else of that ilk?

You haven't even done a mission yet?

I expect you will get bored.

Has anyone else seen the pencil marks on the (paper) map? There's one on Dillion Street, just above Outlook Park on the far right island. And from what I can see, there's one more on each island.

Anyone know what these mean?

The graphics are certianly not as good as i thought they would be but the game itself is ok so far done 3-4 hrs on it.

Let's hope so. I do feel that Rockstar are the kind of dev house that would feel obliged to provide something substantial.

Being drunk is well funny wobbling all over the place, but i got a feeling its unlikely ill finish it they sort of games get repetative after abit thats why the DLC never really bothered me.

Certainly nothing special but I would hardly say it is terrible. I thought it was pretty good fun. Can't wait to try out some of the other modes with some friends, rather than just DM with randoms.

tean dm was cool, four up in a suv all shooting out the windows  its definatly no halo3 or cod4 but its a dam good laugh when you see bodys go flying :D

It's one of the few games I've played where I'm literally laughing out loud.

The dialog is hillarious "Can I come in for a hot coffee, I respect you", the "titties titties titties, big round American titties" and more is brilliant.

But the drunk while driving has left it's mark on me, my eyes now need bleaching!

Plus thankfully I'm getting used to the graphics now, they're growing on me.
