doubt you will get them until all the islands have been unlocked. Brucie will take you places in his helicopter when you unlock his special ability.
 
With regards the framerate, I've noticed when I first start it up there can be some hiccups but after about 30mins of playing its very smooth. I'm not sure if its a result of caching (360 with 120gb) but there is a definite change for me.
 
Well just tried to get ahold of it, went to 15 diffrent shops in various places all are sold out for the 360 version 1 copy was avaliable for the PS3 version but that is of no use to me :(. Gonna try tommrow apparantly new stock is avaliable then.
 
My mate has lent me his 360+GTA4 for the evening.
Its shockingly bad visual wise.
Everything more than 20m away is fuzzy, and the frame rate is a little shakey even when just driving around!:(

You get used to the fuzziness.

I actually think the graphics are extremely good for such a large open world. I love it :)
 
I havnt been impressed thus far.
My mate is bringing his PS3+GTA round on Friday though, so i'll judge then.
One bonus thus far is that theres Jean Michel Jarre music in the game! :D.
 
Ok, here's the situation.

I have a BT Home Hub. If I try connecting to people's servers I get "Game session has ended" or "Connection to one or more players has been lost".

I've successfully played games but they involve joining mid-game. rp2000's manages to work fine then get connection lost when sitting in the lobby.

I've opened loads of ports. Feel free to suggest more. I need ideas how to fix this. It's annoying people on irc and I can understand why.

Hmmm, I have a home hub, and im having the same problem more or less...

Go and see the official i cant join gta 4 mp because its gay thread and put it in there :D
 
does anyone know how to play mp3 music on the ps3 version, i heard u could play music using the mobile phone in the game?

ChartTrack data shows game is now UK’s fastest-selling title in 24 hour period
. Data obtained by MCV from official UK industry monitor ChartTrack shows that Rockstar’s GTA IV has become the fastest selling game ever in a 24 hour period.

The figures – based on EPoS sales data and estimated retail transactions – show that total online and High Street sales for the game hit 609,000 in one day.

That beats the previous record of 501,000 set by another Rockstar title, GTA: San Andreas, on Friday, 29th October, 2004.

Xbox 360 narrowly nudged out PS3 in the ‘battle of the consoles’.

335,000 copies were sold on Microsoft’s machine – 55 per cent of sales and a new record for the console, beating Halo 3’s first-day sales of 266,000 units on Wednesday, September 26th, 2007.

GTA IV sold 274,000 copies on PS3 yesterday – 45 per cent of all sales and another format record breaking performance.
