*** Grand Theft Auto IV - The Official Thread ***

Probably looks blurry as you are letting the Dell upscale it from 720p - unless you are doing something really daft and running it in a box in the middle of the screen.

Can you not run it at 1080 - either interlaced or progressive - the xbox will do a better job of upscaling it to 1080 than your dell does, I bet.

Hi, tried 1080i and the screen vibrates i guess is the best way to describe it so have given up with 1080i and 1080p doesnt display at all so will just ahve to carry on with this now, its still playable.

Anyone else GTA looks very blurry and very unlike the video here - http://www.gametrailers.com/player/33469.html, i cannot understand it, the shadows look to have very jagged edges and am afraid to say do not look at all impressive, whereas on a friends SDTV they are crisp and sharp, its as though the game thinks i'm running at SD and upscaling it all.
I am using a Dell 2407 24" screen, Xbox is set to 720p, and have never had this problem before, anyone else experienced something similar?

Yeah mine looks pretty pants and i'm on a 19" @ native res. What's this 720p thing and can I change it?

Is it normal for xbox to look pants on monitors or is it just not that good anyway? Halo 3 is similarly bad.
Unless i'm just used to AA/AF on PC games?

Well I got to the end where you come out of the subway and got snuffed.

Sometimes the aiming/targeting is really good, other times it is terrible.

*SPOILER BELOW*

As you come up the final set of stairs, peg it straight out the door and over to the range rover parked to your right. You can get in and start to drive off before the police reach/shoot you. Remember to keep tapping RT or LT to hotwire quicker

I'll never do that. Probably already hit 30 hours. I've spent quite a bit watching the TV in my safehouse. :D

Haha me too. Im about 30% in after 25+ hours. The TV is great, found myself watching it for about 30 minutes before i went bed to watch real (lame) TV. :D

JUst getting into this now :D
Was a bit bewildered / intimidated at first by the controls. Graphics are good if you don't focus too much on individual aspects of it.

I've spent quite some time on this now, but apparently have only scraped past 27%, which is impressive. The trouble is I've discovered multiplayer, and I fear the single player campaign may take a back seat for a while. ;)

Personally I'm a radio man and just love listening to Lazlo. His radio shows were one of my fave things in GTA III and Vice City. That dude is so messed up. :D
