***Grand Theft Auto VI***

People just make those excuses to cope against their own failures as people and insecurities really!

I think you’re almost certainly right, I’d be amazed if the realism of the trailer can be rendered in real time, especially on consoles. For anyone saying the graphics in the trailer look bad and are similar to GTA5, I suggest going to spec savers :D Anyone criticising the graphical quality are in the minority and if their expectations are that high I expect they will be even more disappointed when the game comes out. I know and care very little about rockstar (I.e. not a “fan boy”) but I do know this game is going to smash records when it comes out, there’s so much excitement across a wide spectrum of ages.

I think it is possible if there is a PS5 pro/upgraded series x coming out next year. No doubt the footage in the trailer was done on a high end dev pc hardware. Rockstar are very talented and RDR2 was an incredible feat of technical skill in terms of everything that was going on in that game. If any developer can push boundaries beyond what other devs can, it is them.

I doubt it will run THAT well on the current console hardware (and probably will only run ok on 4070ti/7900xt or above in terms of pc hardware i fear as well). Probably heavily upscaled and 30fps on the current gen consoles. God knows what resolution the Series S will play it at..640p? :p

Hopefully there will be a performance mode with toned down graphics because 30fps will be rough.

It is odd to be surprised about there being a lot of black characters in a game set in a city based on Miami...

Even then, the two main characters are white and (it seems) hispanic/latina.

GTA 5 was released on the PS3! And it looked incredible.

R* know how to code properly it seems.

Exactly. They will pull it off. It might well only look like the trailer/run at more than 30fps on a top end PC/on a pro version (if they come out) of the consoles though.

True just look at the original GTA 5 trailer 12 years ago:

The amazing thing is that the trailer has 101 million views after 12 years.

GTA 6 in trailer 24 hours now has 104 million views.

The power of social media now is insane. They've made more money off this teaser trailer in 24hrs than an entire 12 years of the GTA 5 one.

To be honest, if the PC version does not get a simultaneous release/ is going to be another year or more off, and the rumours/leaks of a PS5 Pro are true, i may well just buy a ps5 pro and GTA 6, and try out some other playstation exclusives for a bit. Then flog it within a year or so and go back to my PC.

Likely wouldn't stand to lose all that much money really.

DF thinks about 80% of the trailer might be real time in game engine
looks like a video to me

are people really questioning whether a video trailer is ingame footage?
it's not like it's rendered in real time for everyone who clicks play

it's basically irrelevant if it's cgi or ingame unless it's running supposedly "live" Infront of you

It was recorded using in game engine running on a system. The stair stepping and other artifacts give that away. As does the companies previous trailers. They don't use CGI.

This. It's obviously in engine. Pretty rubbish CGI by today's standards if it isn't!

Sure, it's probably running on a beast of a machine and likely touched up/got some added effects here and there.

I do expect it to largely look like that on a high end machine or on a ps5 pro or something.

The female protagonist is Latina, possibly Cuban or something. The male protagonist's looks have changed - in the leaked footage a while back the male had pale white skin, now he's got dark skin

I 5hink they've just given him a tan.

Probably, he still has white facial features though he is thicker now - the character model was also a lot skinnier, he's much more bulky now. To be fair the female protagonist is also bulkier, she used to be a little bit skinnier

Lmao. A quick check on wiki suggests Hispanic and black people of Miami city make up 87% of the population. So the video is demographically accurate, the tears from those posters are hilarious

Size of the map, population\vehicle density etc.
Well, from what I've found online, CB77 is around 100-110sq km, while GTA5 is about 76km... But at the end of the day is about what you can render and what/how much you want to render. Frankly, they could have rendered a lot more NPCs and the same (as in a lot more), with clutter. Is not about being limited by the engine in this simple regard - is really good multi threaded. You can always have one or two extra settings for those who want to push things... If you want too. Remove the pressure to release on old gen and "miracles" happen. :))

With that said, the GTA6 trailer also has a lot of "zoomed in" shots, which makes places busier than they are. All in all, does look quite good :)
