***Grand Theft Auto VI***

Since the leak was playable on pc they shouldnt really say its console only at first since we know theres a pc build. If they put it on consoles first even when ppl know theres a pc build there will be outrage imo.

The outrage won’t do anything. It will be the best selling game the year of release and the PC only crowd will for the most part still buy it on PC release with many double dipping.

It’s a huge console seller and no doubt Rockstar will have something in place with Microsoft and Sony to keep it that way.

They're will be a tiny tiny rage, and people will still double buy. The PC gamer % v consoles has to be tiny?

Well a quick Google says I'm very wrong.

Personally I don't understand the logic of people that double dip.

If you've played a game on the console and finished it (even if you don't finish it) why do you need to buy it again just to play it on the pc?

Also technically I'd argue once you own the game on one platform you should be offered a free download to play it on a different platform.

You've payed for the rights to play that game. They should give you an option to download it and use on any platform.

For example they have no issue allowing cross platform play, so why not take that further and allow someone that has legally bought the game to play it on the platform of their choice.

There are probably thousands that have bought on PS3, PS4, PC and PS5 or Xbox equivalents.

If its a decent game ill go back to play 5 more times in future i will

I had GTA On PS3 & PS4 (PS4 for upgraded gfx) Then PC as i dont own consoles anymore on PC alone i got 360 hours on Single Player (dont play MP)
So even at 120 pound (40x3) i got way more than 1 pound an hour of entertainment

its very much like Game of Thrones, If you watched that for the first time now, So much would have been spoiled by Online, that it would be as special. GTA is one of those games you need at launch not to be spoiled

If they ever roll out billing per hour hardly anyone will buy games unless they're free at the beginning. Which I can't ever see happening for AAA titles.
More like charging you $120, because games X offers 120hrs of gameplay, while other will charge $60 for 30. Or something...

Anyway, greed can be their undoing.

Widely expected to be revealed during The Game Awards on December 7th

GTA 6’s Publisher Says Video Games Should Theoretically Be Priced At Dollars Per Hour

I suspect this could happen although I do recall some time ago the head of EA saying Battlefield players should have to pay to reload

John Riccitiello who you may be more familiar with as the former CEO of Unity and "that" pay per install fiasco.

This is the way all publishers want it. I will never buy a game that charges per-hour. I have almost stopped buying games now, used to buy 6-10 games a year, now only paid for ~6 in the last 4 years, the rest have been free stuff.

To be fair his comments were made back in 2012 and shut down immediately.

Make compelling content and keep adding to it and people will pay, maybe not dollars per hour but if the content and engagement is good enough people will pay for DLCs, etc. as long as it isn't basically cutting content from the game and drip feeding it :s some might grumble but most will pay.

Totally agree and I did exactly the same as you :D

I purchased gta 5 on 3 platforms , PS3, PS4 and then PC.

My reasons were the enhanced versions on PS4 and ultimately I wanted the PC experience , as it had all the graphics settings.

I completed the story on all 3 platforms.

I now have it on Xbox series X with my gamepass so could argue I have had it on 4 platforms, but never played it on the Xbox series x.

I will buy it on my Xbox series x when it comes out, and then on PC. Personally I much prefer it on console as it’s a game you can play in the comfort of your living room sofa rather than crouched over a PC monitor.

I can see some publishers wanting a pay per hour type system but I can't see how it could be implemented without uproar.

The landscape of gaming has changed for imo the worse over the last 20 years with day 1 DLC, micro transactions and freemium pay-to-win type games.
