Graphics Card Warranties (UK Only) - Let's see how good they really are!

Sorry to hear that Jed, I think this warranty info is really good, tbh I wouldn't buy anything now apart from EVGA, Gigabyte and MSI. The additional support from overclockers makes them the only supplier I'd buy cards from too.

No I didn't think to do anything like that. Maybe I can take pics of the remaining card here, frame them and have a little service for the end of a beautiful Crossfire partnership. I guess I'll go over to the Green Team for the next card, donate the remaining 5870 to my girlfriend or something.
I'll have a pair of 8800GTXs lying about :D

There's still hope of an RMA :)

No, Overclockers have told me that Sapphire have rejected the RMA. Unless they have done something silly like snap the thing in half during testing, I'm probably not going to b able to prove/disprove anything they say I've done to void it. There aren't many things you CAN do to a card anyway, and as it's the old Vapor-X model with version 2 blue pcb, there was no option to overvolt or anything like that.
It had a dead HDMI and Displayport output, and serious texture flickers. I guess as it was 2 weeks before warranty expiry they don't want to honour it :(

Don't give up if you know your in the right.

I recently RMA'd my 1 year old Gigabyte 480 SoC on the 3rd of March 2012.

I got an email back on 22 March 2012 saying they were swapping it for a 580 SoC.

2 weeks after that, I got the 580 thru the post.

I can't fault that service.

Well I've asked OC to tell me all the information Sapphire sent them, so I'll see why they say it's void.
I'm looking at an EVGA 670 now, they seem to have things in order with regard to CS :)

Sapphire are terrible.

'Overclocking is the top reason for why sapphire cards are broken and sent back, therefore you cannot talk about overclocking on our forums and we do not support it'.

Ooooh, but feel free to release toxic edition cards and your own overclocking software to trick customers and to try and compete with the others.

I bought two sapphire 5770s a while ago, the bases of each cooler were heavily scratched and dented, and the temperatures and noise were terrible (over 90 degrees at 1 Ghz).

But no, its because people that overclock kill the cards, not because they are shoddily made.

I've never had to use manufacturer warranty before though. I had a gigabyte 4870 fail due to no spacing or side fan in a crossfire setup, and an old ATI 9800 pro that was over 4 years old.

The best bit is of course that the cards I had were the OC editions - those that are already factory overclocked by Sapphire themselves. If they try to pull that 'don't overclock' BS with me.... <growls menacingly>

From what I have seen, I will never ever buy from Sapphire. Disgraceful is all I can say.

For some reason they used to be recommended as the best ATI brand which is why I tried them. Anther issue was that I read reviews of the 5770s I bought and they all said it came with dirt 2. Buy two cards and no dirt 2 game in either of them. So I do some research on this, apparantly Sapphire released no lese than three seperate boxed editions for the same card, one with dirt 2, one without, and one with next to nothing like an OEM boxed card. None of the reviews on the card indicated this though, they all said that it came with dirt 2.

This is such an annoying practice they have kept on doing. TBH, I don't hear much good about Sapphire, His, Powercolor or VTX ... AMD have some pretty rubbish AIBs. If buying AMD cards stick to Gigabyte, MSI, and maybe Asus I suppose.

Shame on you Sapphire.
I've been thinking about getting their product, but now I'll take gbt.(definetly)
assus customer service i bad in Poland, and don't know about UK.
good luck mate

I've been pointed to this thread as I was looking at a Sapphire 7950 OC however the previous few posts I'm definitely changing my mind - congrats Sapphire!
