Graphics Card Warranties (UK Only) - Let's see how good they really are!

You need to upload the image to somewhere like imageshack abs.

Then post the direct link with
img*] img tags round it like that, well.. minus the asterisk. Else what I post won't show up :p

the above image shows that you can transfer registration on an xfx card to a second buyer. now i just need someone at OCUK to confirm that an warranty issues will be dealt through them with me as a second buyer.

Sent my KFA2 GTX580 down to Wales and it was tested and confirmed faulty in under 24 hours although they have had to get another shipped in from europe since they had no stock and said it might take about a week and a half.

anyone help me out here regarding my situation concerning warranty transfer on a pair of 6970's i bought second hand. as per the above image i can re-register the cards to myself as the second owner with XFX (the image is actually taken from a 5970 i had registered but since sold) but i need clarification from OCUK regards any future issues arising (RMA etc) as the cards were purchased from here. would OCUK deal with any issues as a second registered owner? i don't see why not?

NO. You would have to do it with the original purchaser. If you need an RMA then go to the original buyer and they'll have to contact OcUK for you.

oh really? i would have thought by being allowed to re-register the cards with XFX would make me the new owner for warranty purposes etc?

Left it around 30 days then contacted OcUK, I'm assuming they've heard nothing from ASUS so they offered me a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 2048MB as a replacement.
Thanks for letting us know, just goes to prove how pathetic Asus Warranty is on graphics cards.

KFA2 are the old BFG team who are now owned by Galaxy and BFG had the best reputation when it came to dealing with faulty cards so it's no wonder your issues have been promptly dealt with.

hey guys, so what exactly is the rma position for less than 28 days?

i got a configure your own pc and 3 weeks in it appears the gpu has died(gtx 570), the system shut down during bc2 with a burning smell and the no gpu was detected after that so had to switch to intergrated graphics,

anyway i was told to send the whole pc back to make sure nothing else was damaged, they recieved it friday just gone

thanks

good thread this but i thought overclockers would have been on and helped as much as they can with want warranties go with them and what goes straight back to vender, bit of a bad show really overclockers

I don't get how some of these companies think, they don't seem to get it's going to impact what people buy.

I mean is anyone from the EU going to ship something out as far as Taiwan/Hong Kong (China) thus pay excessive shipping costs, wait weeks until it gets there (they actually confirm they got it) and then wait again but also potentially face hefty import charges if they incorrectly mark the package (shipping forms)?

In a day and age where competition is on the every corner and customers can flip switch at the flick of a second you would think they want to do all they can to influence customers to stay, apparently not it seems.

Too many AIB's in the graphics card space anyway, and all seem to think they're superior than their competition when all they are is some stuffy back office (usually) who buys in cards from the same factories they all do and then stick on their logo stickers, add boxing etc.
