Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2nd - 6th April 2022]

Spurs have lost 3 fewer games then Burnley who have just lost 4 in a row...they are likely now to finish top 4 above Arsenal.

Doubt any arsenal fan realistically thought we get top 4 at the start of the season....
If we get top 4 it would be a bonus.

Spurs and united have a far better team and more mature and experienced

Do they? I mean Spurs' talisman decided he didnt want to play for the first half of the season.

someone laughing his arse off at arsenal doing their best spurs impression when top 4 was nailed on.

Ah just a neckbeard then, ignored.

In some alternate universe where we had an easy run-in and had played the Spurs game earlier in the season it might have been more realistic but our final run of games is much worse than the other teams vying for 4th.

Innit. No more games for arsenal to get top 4. It’s gone. We had to win this else thats it. Our last game of the season to secure top 4. Damm it. Onwards to next season

With the run in arsenal have compared to the others they needed to win this game imo. The way they played tonight that is top 4 gone, you can't be that bad and get top 4 with the games they have left to play.

You can't just write your chances off just because of a harder run-in. A win today, which although not easy was realistic and you'd be in the driving seat. The buffer you had over Spurs & Utd meant those head to head games with them weren't going to decide the top 4 race, as long as you could pick up points in games like today - the tricky away games vs handy sides.

Even with the loss today, it's hardly a write off. You're still right in the mix. Yes, you may have to pick up a few more points than you'd have hoped in your harder games to come but that's not impossible, nor is it that Spurs will drop points vs Villa at the weekend.

I’m starting to wonder about the likelihood of Vieira replacing Arteta one day.

It must be the job he really wants eventually.

Possible long shot for manager of the season, most people had them going down but they've bought smartly and look well coached.

I knew Arsenal had the harder run-in of the teams battling for top 4 but I've just skimmed through your fixtures and it's harder than I thought. Southampton away is always tricky, Chelsea away, Utd at home, West Ham away, Spurs away and even the home games against the likes of Leeds and Everton who could be battling for their lives - they're all potentially tricky games. And if I'm an Arsenal fan, I wouldn't be hanging too much hope of Liverpool beating Spurs just yet. All things being equal we'll be big favourites in that game but who knows what the title race situation will be like then and the situation with the CL. If we were to lose to City, the title race could be all but over by the time the Spurs game comes around and if we're still in the CL, who knows what side we're putting out in the League.

The game away to Spurs will be huge and a win there will make it very hard for Spurs but lose that and I think you're probably going to have to get two wins from Chelsea, Utd & West Ham, on top of winning the other games you should be winning.

My post was very much a cope :D

Agree on Spurs at Anfield, I think a motivated Conte Spurs team getting a result there wouldn't be a massive surprise. Chelsea and Spurs will be tough but we don't seem to **** the bed when playing them like we do pool/city so we can just about afford to drop points today. Missing our first choice fullbacks is really hurting us and the latest on Tierney is that he needs surgery so god knows what we're gonna do about Tavares.

The only saving grace was the others all had Europe to contend with but that's becoming less of a problem now, just gotta hope the others take enough points off each other.
