Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2nd - 6th April 2022]

Shocking, that's top 4 gone. Never thought they could be that bad this season, they can't even keep the ball for more than 2 passes! Absolute rubbish.

Karma for playing the covid card earlier in the season and their disrespectful celebrations vs Wolves ;)

We still have to play all our top 4 rivals, it's still in our hands if we lose this. Our lack of depth was always going to be a problem.

First game back from an international break and a few key injuries, I wouldn't worry too much.

i dont know why everyones worrying we still have a game in hand and spurs have to go to anfield you really think they are getting something form that game?

Just as well I've had stuff to do on night shift. Stats look truly abysmal even taking into account the usual post international break malaise. No way we'll even scrape a draw unless the 2nd half is a complete 180 from both teams, so I'm just going to actually get work done and be annoyed we threw away the game in hand.

Tavares is literally a death sentence for the team every time we play him.

I knew Arsenal had the harder run-in of the teams battling for top 4 but I've just skimmed through your fixtures and it's harder than I thought. Southampton away is always tricky, Chelsea away, Utd at home, West Ham away, Spurs away and even the home games against the likes of Leeds and Everton who could be battling for their lives - they're all potentially tricky games. And if I'm an Arsenal fan, I wouldn't be hanging too much hope of Liverpool beating Spurs just yet. All things being equal we'll be big favourites in that game but who knows what the title race situation will be like then and the situation with the CL. If we were to lose to City, the title race could be all but over by the time the Spurs game comes around and if we're still in the CL, who knows what side we're putting out in the League.

The game away to Spurs will be huge and a win there will make it very hard for Spurs but lose that and I think you're probably going to have to get two wins from Chelsea, Utd & West Ham, on top of winning the other games you should be winning.

I've said for ages I didn't think top 4 would happen. It'd be glorious obviously but our run-in and inability to play well when we don't have our ideal 11 (barring the odd swap when we're already ahead) makes it unlikely. Given where we were getting back into the top 6 would be successful but failure to get top 4 will now be spun as a complete meltdown/failure.

EDIT - that Saka one should have at least been looked at
