Greenlizard0 PL & FA Cup Football Thread ** spoilers ** [18th - 22nd July 2020]

I think im probably on my own here but i do not get the hype with Traore. Hes an absolute unit and quick but not a lot else.

Hes like a giant Dan James
He's got a lot of potential. I saw him playing for Boro against Arsenal early in his career and he was an absolute menace, he really stood out in a poor team. His physique is a bit unusual for a footballer, especially one who often plays in wide areas, because not only is he lightning quick (fastest player in the league) but he's also got a lot of bulk and upper body strength. Sort of like a prime Lukaku but quicker and playing less central. The problem is maybe his end product is a bit hit and miss.

You could say he's like a giant Tony Daley.

Traore’s impossible to play on his day. You’ve just got to hope he’s not on it and set up to minimise the time he gets on the ball.

he’s not particularly aesthetic though and is inconsistent which is why I think a lot of people don’t rate him and why some fans of teams he plays for find him frustrating.

Traore reminds me of Zaha. Top player at times but is never likely to be pinning down a starting spot at a top tier club. Too inconsistent and the nature of his game makes his output impressive in a smaller team but probably detrimental overall to a top class side that looks for a cohesive unit to win games and not an individual to win them. Game changer for sure but no one will pay huge money for an impact sub.

Zaha already went to United and flopped. He’s the very essence of all show and no end product. I doubt any big team in the EPL will go for him.

Traore isn't somebody that starts every week at a top club but my god he'd be a great impact sub. Imagine being run into the ground by a Salah or Mane for 75 minutes and then you see Traore about to come on.

He's a maverick type player that's not going to perform consistently for 40 games per season but he'll have games and moments within games that will win teams matches because he can be completely unplayable at times.
