Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [10th - 12th February 2024]

My question is my question and I can propose my question the way I see fit...

But it has it's basis, it's not if West Ham wasn't in a relegation battle before Moyes took the job for the 2nd time....so it is perfectly valid to me.
You can but I can say it's a bit ott too. Since being promoted back into the PL (11 seasons ago) West Ham have only finished below 13th twice, both times under Moyes (14th last season and 16th in the 19/20 season) and their squad has never been as strong as the squad today. They're not a side that's suddenly going to be 20th if they lose David Moyes.

So are we going to see history repeat itself from next season? United becoming good again and Liverpool dropping off when Klopp leaves.

I doubt it. United are still 2-3 seasons off competing even if everything goes really well and EtH turns out to be a great coach/manager. Currently the jury is massively out. You can see in this game that even something as silly as having Martinez out makes a huge difference to how we play. Top teams don't lose 20% when a player is injured.

Didn't City really struggle when Rodri was out earlier in the season?

The reason I put the question that way is because there is jeopardy, what is the point of it your way when the status quo is largely the same, aka, having your cake and eat it. So of course they would trade better football for 12th position, not in the relation zone, stay in the PL... The purpose is that you can't have everything, and whether they would trade something good (places in the table), for another thing they want (better football), and have to lose something in the process.

Oh I know and West Ham fans will have to live with their decision (so to speak) if and when Moyes leaves but I come back to what I said previously about football meaning to be fun and I can 100% understand why West Ham fans aren't happy and it's no shock that they have turned on him so quickly. It happens with all these types of managers. It's why things always blow up so quickly with Mourinho - deep down nobody enjoys his style of football and when the results dry up things turn bad very quick. The Moyes/West Ham situation is probably exaggerated because West Ham do have a long history of playing a certain way.

As I said in my first post though, the West Ham board have shown they don't really care what their fans think and could very well stick with him. If results don't improve soon though then things could get very ugly, as they did at the back end of Moyes first stint.

Hardly a surprise, it's been all Villa for a while now. What is frustrating is the Hollywood passes being played by Casimero and Bruno, just gives possession straight back. That's a big issue with playing counter attack, the ball comes back as quickly as you break if you lose possession. The players look exhausted too.
