He being honest at least feel maybe you got to tweak the tactics to suit the absolute dross we go though, but he said he not changing so buckle up and enjoy the rollercoaster because it going to be a very harsh ride, especially if we have no signings.

I know there's context to what he said, but the players won't have liked hearing that...

They simply must get him a player or two before the end of this window. Most positions can be easily improved!

He looked the most broken we've seen.
I see this as a battle of wills with a group of players that historically do not follow instructions and revert to type if allowed. Ten Hag gave into the pressure and let them win. Ruben will not. Next ten days critical to assert his position by getting some dead wood out the club even if it is only on loan. I think one problem will be the depth of the squad . The bench today could easily see 4/5 exits and there aren't even 2/3 from the u21's knocking on the door. United need to shop smart for once. After watching the Highlights of Newcastle Bournemouth last night I was staggered how good Christie and Adams were are nullifying the Toon midfield. Both those players looked better than Ugarte and Mainoo. Those two have a Tranfrmkt value of about $30m. Christie kicked Joelinton off the park and Adams who is about 5'8 outworked Bruno G and Tonali. Food for thought.

What do people expect him to look like and say? He's obviously frustrated the players are hugely inconsistent and he's trying to work out if they can play in his system. I'm sure he's not that surprised.

One minute we're dogged and robust against two top sides, the next minute we look like a League 2 side.

INEOS have appointed him at great cost, now they need to spend some money and get some players in for him, and it needs to be now. I think 99% of people know Amorim isn't really the issue here, yet many are starting to doubt him. Football is a results business and to rebuild a club the size of Man Utd, you need to be able to grind out results or you won't get given the time due to mounting pressure.

Yes have to agree. From the outside looking in, laughing mostly but you haven't got the players for this system. He needs 6-8 players at least, all ones that he wants. Maguire looks the only defender suited to a back 3, even the 5, whoever else has played just looks clueless. Not even sure you have the right midfielders for it, and on paper thats probably your strongest area.

From that press conference above it sounds like he knows he hasn't got the players but now they just aren't listening or not understanding what he's telling them which isn't helping.

if a manager doesn't have the players to play 'his' system but continues anyway, that is 100% on the manager. It's no different to Kompany @ Burnley and I don't remember folks giving him a free pass last year. You are conceding more chances and creating less under him (ignore the results/games against the top teams as you'd expect the players to be 'up for it' in those). He looks completely out of his depth, which is great as an opposition fan, but extremely worrying for a man utd fan imo.

I don't agree with you here. You can't ignore the games against the big teams, players haven't been up for it under previous managers. We've been spanked 7-0 and 3-0 by Liverpool under ETH. Also against City, 6-3 and 2 x 3-0.

It seems like people think we've fallen down the table since he took the reins but we were 14th when ETH was given his marching orders. The only thing that concerns me is we're worse in the final third.

Why, the season is a write off, might as well see who is worth keeping and get them some playing time under the new system. They won't get relegated and other than financially, Europe will probably hamper them next season. He might have to make some minor tweaks if he doesn't believe it will work in the PL, but whats the point bringing in a manager who plays a certain way and then asking him to change it up before you've given him the tools he needs.

Difference with teams like Burnley is that United aren't fighting relegation (yet) and can actually bring in the players they need to make it work. Just gotta let him get the players he wants now and in the summer. Not too dissimilar to Klopp and Arteta when they first took over.
