Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 3rd September 2023]

That is before the corner is even taken, that happens at every corner in every game mate. Not often you see players two handed holding a defender back from stopping a shot though. But of course VAR is incompetent.
That's simply not true, look at Evans' right arm as the corner is coming in. It's six of one, half a dozen of the other

I don't think I've ever seen shami be objective where man u are concerned - everything is a foul for man u if its 50/50 or both players pulling each other all over the place like the rice goal today.

ETH has played a blinder with his post match interview. Instead of people talking about how average his team are people are talking about how an offside isnt offside.

United can thank var they even have 6 points so far this season. Both wolves and forest games, they should have got a point tops.
Exactly this.

Evans clearly hauls Gabriel down to the ground, Arsenal would have had a good shout for a penalty but Rice scored so it didn't matter

Never would be given. Gabriel has arms all over the defender to stop him closing rice down at the end of that play when Gabriel goes down and is bordering interfering with play off the ball.

Evans realises too late that Rice is the threat and I don’t think he is fouled by Gabriel either as he doesn’t move to intercept until it is too late.

Frustrating game yesterday, our best half of the season and it wasn't rewarded. Such a shame about Garnacho's goal.

I don't know why people find it so hilarious that ETH could be under pressure. Let's be honest, as good as last season was in comparison to the previous few, he fluffed his lines big time in the last third of the season. We were pretty lucky to come away with Champions League football with the results we were having. Yes he won a trophy, but again, his latter season form was bad, and it seems to have carried in to this season. Transfers have been a bit...hit and miss so far. I do not see Mount being anything but a flop, Onana looks to have been a great buy and Hojlund will be a long term buy which I'm sure will pay off, but he's not going to be scoring a lot this season. Our squad still looks like it's in need of a lot of players, and that's without the injuries.

If we don't start playing convincing football and getting results soon, then absolutely ETH should be considered very much under pressure. I'd say if we were the Utd of old, then no, but we've proved ourselves to be trigger happy with managers in the last decade so we shouldn't expect it to be different now

Exactly this.

I think Baz needs to rename you TY because you are deluded.

We were centimetres away from possibly taking all three points against Arsenal at the Emirates who are considered the de-facto challengers for the title this season.

The scoreline doesn't reflect the game at all and it was by far our best performance of the season so far

Arsenal were pretty much at full strength at home. We were playing with a right back at left back and ended up finishing the game with Evans and Maguire.

We were very lucky to grab all six points against Wolves and Forest yes but yesterdays game we were very unlucky to come away with nothing.

After yesterdays performance I am a lot more positive going into the season than I was the previous 3 games.

We still need to introduce our three new signings proper as well.

As has been pointed out and admitted by you, you needed a referee to bail you out on more then one occasion this season, you've been average at best. As for being cms away, offside is offside even if youre manager doesnt know the offside rule.

If you think you were anything more then average yesterday then perhaps its you that needs the name change?

A referee did not bail us out multiple times this season at all. I guess we're just forgetting the Romero handball penalty that we weren't given or the second yellow for brandishing imaginary card that Forest weren't given? It's funny how decisions are only remembered when they go for us but immediately forgotten the other way round.

Man United lives rent free in omnoms head even though we have been insignificant for a decade.

Best performance of the season? You had a goal due to an assist from Havertz, outside of that Arsenal have dominated every stat. Only times United looked a threat was on the break which didn't happen much at all.

Pulling him down? He ends up on his feet :D

You think you're just allowed to throw an arms across someone and drag them back? That is a legal challenge? You really are the worst troll on here.

Gabriel is on his feet after the challenge ends, he then trips over Hojlund. What clip are you watching lol. Please post a screenshot of Hojlund dragging Gabriel to the ground. You can quite clearly see at the end that he's not holding him at all.
