Right but you cant keep getting away with forearms to peoples heads. Bruno and now Joelinton, its ridiculous.
No idea what team we’ll have for Chelsea come Saturday with a EL game midweek. Dunk really let himself down today! Unless anyone is coming back during the week and todays injury subs were over zealous, we’re without:
Dunk, Lamptey, Fati, Estupinian, Milner, March, Welbeck, Dahoud, Enciso, Mitoma.
Only subs we’ll have is teenagers and Moder who is only just back after an 18month injury. Seems like a lot of teams are suffering badly this season!

Watching some highlights from yesterday - the bookings for James and Sterling are absurd. Yes, if someone puts the ball away then book them, but they've both just flicked it 3 yards. The punishment of a booking clearly doesn't fit the crime. James getting sent off for the most minor dissent, and the most minor foul, is mad.
If we're going to introduce such petty bookings , then they should bring in a new colour of card (call it a white card for the sake of argument) for "technical" infractions like kicking the ball away. Get a white card and a yellow card, or two white cards, and your manager must substitute you. It punishes the player, and they team to a small extent, but nowhere near as much.

They both kicked the ball away to prevent a quick free kick, so it’s a yellow card and James ****** up for the second yellow and brought Gordon down, don’t see what the problem is.
Dunk is the first player to receive a straight red for dissent in 12 years?!
There’s a couple of guesses as to what he said, inexcusable but I think he took one for fans everywhere!
Wonder if Cooper will get charged with his criticisms, not sure where the line is these days. Nothing he said was wrong.

I'm a Liverpool fan, this is nothing to do with Chelsea v Newcastle - it's just an example. Would your view change if I was commenting on a different match?

No it wouldn’t TBH, being a massive rugby fan I’m happy that refs are cracking down on that sort of stuff, just like the dunk sending off yesterday, I’m happy a ref has finally said “enough is enough” the problem is either today or next week the same thing will happen and the ref will bottle it.
But in rugby they essentially do something very similar to what I'm suggesting, which is a temporary/lower level punishment. Perhaps a 5 minute sin bin for minor dissent?

I’m 100% for a 10 minute sin bin TBH as it would stop dissent over night, I would also bring it in for those tactical fouls that stop a break

Yeah I agree - I just think it's a bit ridiculous that a player can kick the ball away 5 yards, then get a soft second yellow and be sent off which can completely change the game. Obviously they're often wholly or partly to blame so I don't have too much sympathy for them personally, but to ruin it for their team and most people watching is crazy.
