ahh Ok makes sense. Cheers. Fans still doing **** like that? I don't take much notice of what fans are singing as I can barely make out what they are actually singing.
Unfortunately yeah they are. A sad indictment of how pathetically tribal some fans are when doing nothing more significant than following a sports team.

I’m confused as to why they should drag Barkley in front of the camera to ask him about the chants just because he’s from Liverpool

League is very competitive. For Luton to get a draw with Liverpool who have been showing good form, highlights just how tough it is to compete for a title. Despite United's shockingly bad form and general ****ness we are only 6 points off the top four. Villa, Brighton and Newcastle have all lost 3 times now and realistically that is our competition for now. I'm also struck by how well drilled almost every side is out of possession (except for United!). Arsenal / Newcastle was stalemate really for much of the game that I saw and we see similar with the likes of Luton who muscled their way to promotion last year and compete for every ball. Sitting deep and countering might not be for the purists but it's incredibly effective. Anyway, well played Luton and nice moment for Diaz.

No....winger Passed FORWARD, but the scorer was BEHIND the winger in the moment of the pass. I said Forward, first sentence, 16th word.

The word 'Backwards" does not appear in the post, at all.

Not sure where you dream that up from.

Don’t worry mate, I posted about backwards you gave an example of forwards. It’s all good!

Because it would be interesting to see if a player is willing on camera to criticise his own fans or whether they would avoid saying bad things about their own fans. Some players will show honesty and integrity and criticise rightly, others would avoid dissing their own fans, so its something that interests me as to which sort of person each one is.

(same applies to managers too)

That Arsenal statement isn't great.

I think Arteta is cracking under the pressure a bit, he's messed up the goalkeeper situation, failed to sign a striker and now the cracks are starting to show.

VAR has plenty of issues but there have been far worse incidents (the Liverpool one for example) - there was some subjectivity to the VAR call last night.

At least the sick chant disgusting Luton fans dont get their 3 points

Town of 30,000 population but only 4 family names :)

I don't disagree with you at all about how sickening tragedy chanting is.

But do you think immediately turning around and throwing insults about inbreeding lessens your point somewhat?

I mean, this is exactly the problem we face (and not just in football) - each 'side' thinking their behaviour is justified because of the (obviously completely unjustified) behaviour of their opponents.

I'm not saying that these two things are on the same level. But I'm not sure there's value in trying to assign 'levels' to this stuff anyway.

I think theres a discernible difference though, mine is said as a joke, but those fans chants are said out of malice not jest. The difference between a Jimmy Carr joke and Jimmy Carr meaning what he says.

Arsenal's statement is exactly what the PGMOL need to hear and what every other club should be supporting. The ref's suck, they're got progressively worse each season and all Webb appears to have done is protect them by threatening to fine anyone that speaks out against them.
What did they actually get wrong? Bruno red? Yep probably. Havertz red? Yep that too. Arteta has overreacted and the club has doubled down taking eyes away from the fact that they didnt play very well.

Because he will have grown up with the legal fight, the murderers chanting etc and issues with The S*n all his life including when they called him a gorilla. There isnt anyone more qualified to speak out and educate his own fans then him.
