Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9th - 10th November 2024]

Missed the first half but sounds like it's been a reasonably OK performance?

Shows you that despite being in terrible form, we've turned a bit of a corner in terms of results. Just need to continue that upward trajectory... Amorim has a lot of work to do, but he's got something to work with.

If you consider the example of Grealish going to City it provides an interesting contrast in how to handle a player who has a high profile. It doesn't bother Pep one jot that they paid £100m for Grealish or what he did at Villa. He basically said - you play the way I want you to play or you don't play. Arguably he's neutered Grealish but he made him a better asset for the team? United haven't either had the backing for the manager or the squad depth to make that sort of selection call.

Conditions seem to have played a part today. It's been sloppy this half but at least we have had a degree of control.
Didn't they buy him to stop him going to a rival club?

Not been an exciting game but we've come up with that bit of quality for the goals. Leicester have offered no threat.

Pleased for Ruud.
He's done all that could have been expected and has done himself proud.

Agreed - good job.

Much better performance from United - yes it's Leicester but still looking much more solid and better going forward..... Leicester have been poor mind you

There's one state sponsored illegal team, a team that got lucky with a once in a generation manager and also one of the best forwards, the rest are average.
"Got lucky". Or, you know, were well run enough not to screw up their chances to hire him.

And it's not like you've spent significantly less than City over the last decade.

It's a little early i think to be making assumptions on what they are going to do. Let's see how they operate after a couple of windows.

Really. Since INEOS took over they have appointed top tier staff and nothing about their previous expertise suggests they will accept mediocrity.

Its been good in general. Higher energy levels. Playing the ball faster than usual. Ugarte has been excellent.
