I do wonder if an element of Adkins not playing Lambert as much as might be expected was with half a mind towards keeping him fresher for the run out of the season, having a key player less fatigued than the defences he's playing against could be a small advantage as the season draws to a close and Saints face what will no doubt be some tough and exhausting games. Especially given the increase in quality that is brought with moving from League One to Premier League in 2 seasons, it's a big ask for a lot of these players to keep up the pace.
Well done to Southampton, got a result against Chelsea albeit a draw but still thats a good result for them.
LOLChelsea, to go up 2 goals then promptly allow 2 goals is shocking stuff.
At the CC match, the booing was extraordinary. Torres is particular must just want to crawl into a hole. Ramires got a going over too because Lampard wasn't playing.
Both our goals from good play from our 2 full backs, wouldn't be surprised if we are fending off massive bids for them from Chelsea...

Brilliant result for saints we really seem to have turned a corner lately, we started the season playing so nicely but were undone by loosing games against the big boys we could have won and then the confidence crisis that ruined our goalkeepers put us right in trouble. Seems we are finally back to playing good football and have a goalkeeper who is actually upto the job in this league.
The quote above is what worries me most though we have some quality young English player especially Clyne and Shaw so it won't be long before the big boys come knocking I just hope we can resist them for a year or two. Clyne for me looks like the best English right back currently playing and should be a shoe in for England! Also concerned that clubs will start to cast an eye over our other young stars like Jack Cork and Morgan who have both been largely unsung heros this year but have been exceptional for their first seasons in the top flight. Fortunately Lambert is going nowhere he is Saints through and through these days and vital to the teams chances of survival.
COYS!!
Because its made me smile all day

PICK THAT ONE OUT!
It's great that a bit of confidence and maturity from all of our players is starting to shine through and get the results in. Shame we missed out on a few at the start of the season but this is when it matters
I'm still amazed we landed Clyne (who has proved me wrong on my impression of him last season) as the promise of first team football seemed to win him over going to plenty of other clubs. It's the same of Cork that I only have met one Chelsea fan that cared he left them (though he is my barber and wanted to stab me with the scissors when I was over excitedly telling him how good he was last season), I don't see how him and Morgan have ended up unfashionable to big clubs or to the international setup out side of the revelation of no longer being a selling club. It's a nice feeling, just odd for now
Lambert is a legend and I really doubt could ever leave now![]()
Punch has finally switched it to more on games than off thankfully! He's apparently signing up a new contract but I just hope we make sure we get a proper rotation for him sorted as when he's on an off day (or the cut inside run just doesn't work) we need someone to be effective out there, which Punch can usually do.
I cant stop grinning at the goal, its very similar to the one he scored away at Stevenage, one of the best goals iv seen live
I have that hope the youth staying it true especially as Luke Shaw has agreed a 5 year contract for his 18th Birthday at the end of the season, keeping someone as good as him about is key.
Shaw looks to be an incredible prospect, he has made a huge difference to our back 4 and is playing with such maturity for such a young inexperienced lad. I really do hope we see him in the red and white for a few years to come, the last three left backs out of the academy list makes very impressive reading Bridge, Bale and now Shaw I hope the conveyor belt continues!
