The ref deals with the dive. A pro shouldnt be trying to get a fellow pro booked IMO. Maybe its a moot point but its a bit too direct for my liking.
OK thats your opinion. I just dont think its right. If the foul has been given its not up to the player to try an influence the ref.
Its just my opinion. I didnt like Evra doing it so i'll say it.
What are you on about, Downing diving was doing exactly that trying to get a player booked, asking the ref why its not a yellow, how ANYONE can have a problem with that I don't know.
I've said before, its perfectly fine for English players to go up to a ref and ask, in english if thats not a booking, but if a player pretends to wave a card, which is essentially the charades version of "is that not a booking" its beyond awful, its evil and its not his place.
Sorry but, firstly why is it not his place to ask the ref whats going on, why can't ref's be asked why its not a card, when was that made a rule. Secondly, Downing deserved a yellow card, its as simple as that, the ref got it completely wrong, and when the ref doesn't give a card.... what is wrong with Evra asking why not because thats what he's doing.
Quite often, infact mostly, the majority of ref's in football speak English(if not all), which means foreign players tend to learn hand signals to ask the same questions and the majority of English players also use what is basically common sign language in football.
I've asked before, no one ever manages to explain why its okay to ask the question in words, but its awful to ask it using a hand gesture.
Maybe its just me but I hate to see cheating, like Downing, and I have absolutely no problem with players calling ref's on truly awful decisions. There is SUPPOSED to be communication between the ref and the players, and lots of players ask ref's why something was/wasn't a foul all game long. Its simply easier and makes more sense to wave the card and see the ref give a hand signal back or shout back why he hasn't given it, then run over to him, have a discussion and waste time and follow the ref around all game.
Oh, and for the record, Adam's did dive, Suarez went down against Rio aswell with basically no contact, probably not a foul, certainly not a yellow. Lucas, first probably wasn't a yellow, running 15 yards and smashing into a player, no where near the ball, can't fail to see how that wasn't a second.
Also Adam's(i'm fairly sure it was him) dived quite early in the first half in central midfield area.
