Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [16th - 21st January 2015]

Song has been dire all game, this is the Song I've seen countless times. One point before one of Hull's better attacks was classic Song, crappy attempt at winning the ball at the half way line(with lots of west ham players forward) so he runs over to the wing chasing the player down only for Hull guy to pass into the gap Song left and the defence was completely over run. Overcommitting or making a mistake and trying to make up for it by running out of position is how he messed up so consistently at Arsenal.

Hull been rubbish this half and Dawson... lol, 38mil to spend and you bring in Dawson which is only marginally less embarrassing than Spurs keeping Dawson for so long while spending a hell of a lot more.

2-0, seriously, Hull are so pathetic, 38mil this year and 25mil last year and they have a team with no quality, no stand out defenders, no stand out midfielders. Actually I do like Figueroa quite a lot as a powerful left back but they don't seem to start him a lot any more.

Much better. Morgan Amalfitano should have started.

I think West Ham in general should have just started 45 minutes before they finally did ;)

EDIT:- Hull are REALLY awful 3-0.... the whole move, horrible pass, midfield didn't react at all , after the pass went through the midfield they had all stopped. The defence were all flat footed. Hull haven't got any part of the team working well.

No aruguments from me on that one. Our worst half of the season, and we were woeful at home to Southampton !

Hull have made some decent signings. Injuries have really screwed them. I just can't stand Steve Bruce.

I would take Curtis Davies.

Odd sub by Allardyce. O'Brien for Tomkins.

EDIT: Tomkins hamstring strain. Both CBs knackered !

Once he is played down the middle again. He played there for Villa. Then he gets England call and shoved out on wing again. Why Fat Sam moved him from the middle today is anyones guess.

Manchester City: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy, Fernandinho, Fernando, Navas, Silva, Milner, Aguero

Aresnal: Ospina, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Alexis, Giroud.

Personally don't think they've signed anyone good, Keane and Bruce seem to have a similar thing, buy up the people who fail at top 6 clubs/clubs you used to play for. Keane went around spending money on every failed or aged Utd player possible, Bruce I think got some ex utd guys but has switched to getting everyone who failed at Spurs.

Long was his best buy and he sold him a year later for no reason, hard working solid little player doing a great job at southampton, fantastic player, no, but still very very useful.

Huddlestone, Livermore, Dawson are so limited and no where near good enough. Diame is a very limited player, plays hard for 30 mins, crap for the rest of every game, often crap for the 30 mins he actually plays. Ince.... guy who looked like he really couldn't step it up. Arfa... everyone but Newcastle fans who wanted it to be Pardew's fault saw that as a massive mistake, Ramires... similar really, Hernandez, massively overspending on one striker who wasn't proven.. risky. Snodgrass, not really good enough anyway and overspent on him. Jelavic and Sagbo, nope.

Managers making good teams go out and find successful players at smaller teams or smaller leagues, managers like Bruce, Redknapp to a large degree, they keep going and buying the failed players from bigger clubs. So rather than smallish wages on the likes of Pelle and Tadic, they'd go and offer a big wage to huddlestone/Livermore.

I'd say of everyone Bruce has bought the 7mil on Long and Curtis Davies at 2mil are the only ones I would have also bought.

We laughed our head off when he bought Diame, even when he scored against us as we knew what was coming.
