Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [17th - 22nd December 2011]

Arsenal were fairly good, but they have no reliable attacker other than RvP.

Arshavin, Chamakh, Walcott and Gervinho are all very unreliable, erratic and have awful decision making.

City were excellent as usual but quite wasteful really.

As soon as Wenger realises that AOC is better than Gervinho the happier the world will be.

Great performances by both sides. A couple of the saves Joe Hart saved were superb. As to Vermaelen being the most dangerous on the pitch, have you not seen his left foot? Easily as good as Van Persie's. He has scored 10 goals in 50 or something as well.

Its going to get ugly for 4th spot.
It's going to be very tight from 3rd place down to 6th place I think with Utd and City battling it out for top spot.

I've just seen Spurs have a very tough 6 games coming up from Jan 22.

Man City v Spurs
Spurs v Wolves
Liverpool v Spurs
Spurs v Newcastle
Arsenal v Spurs
Spurs v Man Utd

How do do there will pretty much decide if Spurs finish 3rd or 6th.

You can't finish anywhere in between ?

Absolutely brilliant match

Really proud of the lads despite the defeat :)

Indeed, no real shame for us losing by one goal...City really should tanked us today with the amount sooperstars they have at their disposal:p.

Proud of us to keep it 1-0 and not lose by 4-5 goals.

Rubbish. Arsenal did not deserve to lose. A draw was a fair result. Ashavin is a ****ing joke. Why bring him on. He did worse then walcott. Gutted but this is not the game that killed off any title challenge. It was the earlier loses in the season that killed us. Wenger should have bloody sorted out our team during the summer. Everyone knew fabregas and nasri is going to leave.instead wenger left it too late.

I was very worried when I knew after Clichy being suspended and Kolarov injured it was likely going to be Zab up against Walcott today, he really does not like pace, but I don't think I heard his name once. Deserved his shot to go in to be honest because he was fantastic.

Fair play cracking day of football today. QPR, Man Utd was a good game, the first half of Liverpool, Villa was good to watch, then topped of with a cracking match between Man City and Arsenal.

Happy football fan here!

Must say how impressed I've been with Arteta since signing for Arsenal, I was one that said the buy looked like one out of desperation from Wenger and tbf Arteta had looked crap for Everton for about 18 months but the change of scenery has really done wonders for him. Best midfielder on the pitch today imo

In the positions they ended up in, I'd almost be inclined to say the best midfielder on the pitch was either Kompany or Vermaelen :p
