i don't think king's starting but i believe kaboul is back. don't think bale will start, rose will play left (gulp). defoe should be on the bench. walker will be rb with sandro drifting to the right to clatter mata, we wont really have an orthodox right wing apart from when walker gets forward. of course, i could be wrong and redknapp could be playing mindgames over bale.

we need big performances from everyone tonight. the belief is good but we need to be quick out the blocks, an early goal would be very nice.

It just beggars belief the way people go on, they are out there finding the next victim they can put to the "racist" torch. There would probably have been an equal outcry if he had said "black"

We wonder why issues never get sorted in society? This is why, people try to talk about an issue and are lambasted so the majority just don't bother talking about it and bury their heads in the sand over an issue.

Out of interest who were the teams that you drew with? I know we got a 0-0 last season when City played anti football (;)) but pretty sure that was prior to christmas
 
Without bale and lennon i can't see spurs being much of a threat except through the middle.

Perhaps the chelsea stars should bring along their wage slips and let modric have a goosey at them

walker is our fastest player i reckon, trouble is we will be susceptible if one of his runs is broken up as mata will then be free, this is why sandro is a must start imo, he has an incredible engine and is a competent tackler and breaker down.

i just worry that chelsea have now hit good creative form and we may not know how to handle it. i'm not sure if king is playing or not but i hope he is. BAE needs to put in a big performance too. we've got goals in us, if we can make the most of terry's situation, we could bang a couple in.

mata is a sublime player though and sturridge is pretty hot atm, we need to keep them quiet. if kaboul plays, he needs to have drogba in his pocket from aerial attacks and adebayor needs to play his part in defence in this area too.
 
I think the Chelsea side at the moment is so average compared to the last 5 or so years; excluding Mata, there's absolutely no creativity or flair, Sturridge's finishing is so erratic, defensively not nearly as strong as they used to be and... Torres. Lampard in the middle just seems to drift through games now, not good enough to start ahead of Mereiles imo.

Bit of an exaggeration. Sturridge has just turned 22 and has 9 goals and 4 assists this season.

Terry, Ivanovic, Cole and Bosingwa (not quite so much so) is still a solid back 4. The high line played at the start of the season didn't help their reputation.

Lampard with 8 goals and 5 assists clearly still has something to offer and Mereiles has been pretty cack for Chelsea. Gives the ball away all the time.

For me this team is not average, I remember the hate I got when I dared call Arsenal average!

Sturridge finishing is not as bad as people make out. Before the newcastle game he was the most efficient striker in EPL. He only had 1 chance on saturday and he buried that like a brazilian.

Torres would be the ideal striker for a game like this esp as drogba seems to have gone off the boil again. Can't see AVB risking it but would be nice to see the guy get a game, must be killing him on the bench
 
Its the closest its been in years, but the fact I think we can still get a result without our first 11 means something has definitely changed. In the past I would have said no way and still have sided on a lose with our strongest 11.
