There is no degree to which assaulting someone else is okay, how bad the assault is doesn't change that its assault.

Where did I say assaulting somebody was ok? The size of the punishment you receive should reflect the severity of the crime you commit.

What Suarez done was stupid and wrong however most of the outrage seems to be down to simply how unusual it was rather than the severity of what he actually done. What Suarez done was no more violent than had he punched, kicked, elbowed or headbutted Ivanovic yet his punishment is more than 3 times as big.

And before you dribble on about 'repeat offenses' - Suarez's first ban in Holland was more than what you'd get for punching somebody for a start and secondly, if a player is sent off for violent conduct this season and again the following season, he'd still only receive a 3 match ban.

Might as well not bother turning up to games then. In fact just put complete youth out to give them some experience.
Or play Sturridge?

Carroll was let go because he had no place in Rodgers plans, he's hardly going to recall him for the last 4 games when we're no shorter of options now than when he was let go.
didnt joey barton, who i think qualifies as a 'repeat offender', get 12 game ban for two accounts of violent conduct?

Wasn't it 3? Tevez, Aguero and then Kompany.

Finally, the FA actually do something right.

He bit someone for goodness sake. Indefensible. It wasn't a mistimed tackle. He deliberately intended to bite him.

Quite right he shouldn't be allowed on a football pitch for a long time!

You can't defend biting, imagine if Suarez had some kind of disease and broke the skin?!?! But no it's fine, he didn't break the skin, give him a standard ban. HAHA! Liverpool fans.

That are not allowed to take the Ajax bite into consideration. The FA have admitted that

What has been seen cannot be un-seen

Doesn't matter if the FA aren't meant to take the previous bite into consideration or not it happened, the FA know it happened and he obviously hasn't learnt from the previous ban

On that previous ban I keep seeing everyone saying that the Dutch FA only banned him for 5 games and it was Ajax themselves that increased that to 7 but does anyone have any actual statement from the Dutch FA themselves confirming they only banned him for 5 games?

Aguero however gets away scott free then ?

How about Morgan on Hume, Defoe BITING Mascherano and Thatcher etc

Ridiculous suspension.

Good and a perfectly acceptable ban for behaviour which is not expected from any civilised human being on or off the pitch. These so called “professionals” are expected to lead by example and not show such disgusting behaviour. An example has been set and rightly so.

The FA have got it right for once, Even ten-year-olds should now realise that taking a chunk out of your mate on the pitch isn’t really the done thing.

Like I've said repeatedly dodgy tackles are part of the game, being bitten isn't.

Yes Aguero should have been handed retrospective punishment (although even then it was only ever going to be 3 games) but the two aren't even remotely comparable

I'm pretty sure it was 3 accounts of violence so 3+3+3=9 and another 3 for repeat offence.

Suarez one account = 3 and another 3+3+1 for eh, oh.

That wasn't a tackle mate, that's called an assault.

Dodgy tackle? He lunged two footed at the guy ball absolutely no where near, that wasn't a tackle it was a drop kick don't talk complete ****e.

And he robbed points from Chelsea ;)

Initially a 20 game ban then

"An overpaid footballer racially abusing opponents, punching & biting defenders in the Premier League - sounds just like somebody who needs support. You really cannot make him look like a victim even if you want to. Suarez may be a gifted footballer, but he deserves punishment for repeatedly tarnishing the game with his antics."

Yeah Suarez was a saint prior to Sunday wasn't he :o

Like it or not he's bitten someone before, he's got an International ban looming for punching someone, he was lucky to get away with kicking Parker last season and this season he was lucky to get away with stamping on someone; whether the FA are allowed to or not all these things tot up and sooner or later he's got what he deserves

lol Pot kettle Purdy pot kettle

People are sent off for tackles where they're no where near the ball all the time, Footballers know dodgy tacklers (however you want to interpret them) are part of the game and it's what they sign up for having some **** biting you on the other hand isn't part of the game

totally agree they arent remotely the same and it wasnt a get at a particular team or player. it is just the most recent example i could think of of something that was violent conduct that was not retrospectively punished.
