Yep, looks like hes looking up at the ball to me. Nani still came out of no where and wasn't relevant, we were talking about Aguero :):):o

So, to the Liverpool fans defending Suarez. What would have constituted a fair punishment in your eyes?

The FA state that violent conduct is a fixed 3 match ban. I'm not sure whether or why the racism incident will have any bearing on the length of his ban in this case - if Ferdinand gets sent off, does his ban get increased because of his missed drugs test ban for example? I could have understood, whilst not necessarily agreed with a 5 game ban.

Does this not fall into extraordinary circumstances? I think biting someone unprovoked is a hell of a lot worse than leaving a leg in after a tackle (for example).

Surely no one expected anything other than a lengthy ban.

I'd rather someone tried to have a nibble on my arm than cave my face in with an elbow, or break my leg.

Time to put this into some perspective.... :p

If a dog bit someone the owner would be fined and the dog possibly put down or get a seven game ban. If the dog bit a second time it would be put down.... The FA can't do that so ten games is perfectly in order.

Lol sim :D:D:D

He stamped on Mirallas's ankle, and Distin's in the same game, Mirallas was forced to go off at half time and missed several games, Distin didn't have to. So who has he injured, well, Mirallas, completely on purpose, no where near the ball, he's an absolute ****.

He kicks out at loads of players, he kicked Parker, clearly on purpose, he stamped on Kompany's shin then went down like he'd been shot, he tried to bite Ivanovic's arm... not sure if you remember that Purdy, it was an awfully long time ago.

At some point the only fair ban for Suarez is being thrown out of the EPL, why should other players have to be assaulted by Suarez because he can't control himself? What makes it acceptable just because its sport?

Lastly, again I'll ask the question, every part of society, all other sports, everywhere in the world, adheres to the idea that repeatedly commiting offences deserves increasingly big punishments every time... why should Suarez be completely immune to this?

I agree entirely that this is worse than a bad tackle but is it worse than any other form of violent conduct?

The only way this would be considered extraordinary is because it's so unusual rather than because it was worse than another form of violent conduct.

And it's worth noting the reason why the FA took retrospective action against Thatcher but not Defoe biting Mascherano even though both were booked, was because they considered the Thatcher incident extraordinary/extreme. They clearly didn't think Defoe's bite was.

I assume the FA aren't allowed to take past instances into consideration when making a decision? It wouldn't be the worst idea to extend ban times for consistent offenders, how else are they going stop it?

The FA have taken retrospective punishment on Bergkamp after being yellow carded for an elbow yet state they never do it. We know how inconsistent they are, especially this season with Aguero, that Wigan player vs Newcastle etc but even with that in mind you can't really argue the fact that Suarez deserved a big ban.

if the FA were consistent it would help.

what length ban do you think would be fair for suarez?

So he injured Mirallas? I think I remember seeing Mirallas playing not to long after, I'm sure you can check it up you usually have all your facts on hand.

So after that no one, great stuff.

Yes it would but it shouldn't detract from the fact he needs to be severely punished. I can't argue with the 10 game ban. Not a ridiculous length but long enough to make him severely think about his actions.

10 matches. Good stuff. No less than he deserves. He has a history of unacceptable behaviour, previous length bans clearly have no effect on him so I see no problem with a 10-match ban. Maybe this time he'll learn.

Evidently not, he is an idiot, he'll do it again
