I feel sorry for AVB, I really want him to do well and hit the ground running but that high line of his is suicide.

Cause every free kick or corner he took he fluffed completly and he has done this last couple of games yet its one of main reasons we bought him?
He has some great passes in him at times but they seem to be getting less and less as games come around but its early days for him into his liverpool years so ill give him more time all new signings should least be judged after first year imo.
Talk about giving it away again with more defensive errors. A spineless performance in the first half. Great period of play for twenty odd minutes in the second which showed what we can do and back to mediocrity for the rest of the half. There is a plan there somewhere but I’m struggling to see it at the moment.

He, alongside Lucas, were excellent yesterday. For the most part they won the midfield battle against Chelsea's 3 man midfield and gave us the platform to threaten Chelsea on the break with Bellamy, Kuyt, Maxi and Suarez. It was Adam that dispossessed Mikel which led to our first goal and it was Adam's perfectly weighted cross-field pass to Johnson that gave him the one on one with goal for the winner too.
Any criticism of him yesterday is ridiculous and I find critisism of him in the last few weeks strange too. In the opening few weeks of the season he got a few assists and goals but his overall performances were patchy. Since the Utd game (motm that day for me), his individual performances have actually improved but because the teams results haven't been good enough and it's the fashionable thing to do, he's been getting stick :/
I agree and disagree, he was very good against Chelsea yes but he looked completely dead on his feet after 10 mins of the second half and was probably one of the reasons why Chelsea were able to completely over-run us in this period as it effectively became 3 vs Lucas.
Although saying that, fitness levels haven't been the same since Rafa left for the entire squad.

The stuff about his fitness is nothing but a myth. He regularly covers more ground than any other player in the side; including Lucas and Kuyt.
Really? I think I'm the only Liverpool fan that isn't criticising him and I've never claimed him to be an amazing player. He's far from a bad player though and I believe that a lot of the criticism he does get is simply because he's an unfashionable player. Give him a foreign name and pretend we signed him from a La Liga club and I bet he'd get a much easier time of things.
should be a good game. hope vdv is fit. if bale, lennon and walker play, villa may not be able to handle our pace in attack and i'm hoping for a comfortable win!
100% agreed. He's looked really quite effective since he moved. I didn't think he would, but he has.

He fluffed 2 corners yesterday yes but im assesing all his games, At times i think he is brilliant like getting ball yesterday to lead up to our goal or some of his passes which can be Alonso like but again few and far between.
So far id say he has done over all okay, good exactly what id of thought but i still think he can do more. Im not also bashing him based on our recent results cause all players take the blame for that not just him.

This has got Spurs **** up written all over it. 4-5 to Villa, with Bent getting a Hat-Trick from 4x penalties (2 missed) 1 off-side and one in off his back side!
