Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [19th - 24th September 2015]

Nothing could really be funnier at this point than if West Ham break up the field and get a third but they don't currently look like making that happen.

Navas has screwed up a truly ridiculous number of fantastic positions. Couple mins ago KDB was looking for the shot as he ran across the edge of the box and instead played Navas in behind the fullback brilliantly. He had to pull that back as at least two City players pulled back from rather than went goal line as the space wasn't there... Navas picks the wrong ball again.

West Ham just need to get a hold onto the ball where they can, it's just non-stop City pressure since the restart. Makes for good watching though.

15~ minutes left for West Ham to hold out.

I was about to say something very similar. Navas must be the most wasteful player around!

haha, the one he did just now was even freaking worse, to absolutely no one. edge of box, outside the box or towards the 6 yard line so he chips it on a line in between them all but that would be too high for anyone to get anyway.

Noble helping Jenkinson up there, that's a first I have seen someone on their own team fed up of the time wasting.

Brilliant save there on the corner, 5 more minutes for an absolutely outstanding defensive performance from West Ham.

He's not, when you're tired and under pressure it's often slowing down that causes the concentration to be broken. Have you ever been doing something, utterly knackered but kept going, when you finally sit down to take a break you can't get going again. Same thing really, playing like this they are working well, a break will effect West Ham more than City.

All Yaya has seemed to do this game is punt it upfield and hope someone gets a head on it.

Fair play to the West Ham defence, they've withheld constant heavy pressure.

Brilliant result for the league. West Ham 2nd in the prem.

Agree with the MOTM decision of Reid, he was solid at the back, first in line in the defence.

Man City lost their first game at home for 20 games now I think in the premier league.

Hopefully United can close the gap tomorrow against Southampton.

Close the gap on West Ham, who are in freaking second place... they need to.

West Ham and Leicester still in the top three, that is pretty amazing. West Ham have beaten Arsenal, Liverpool and City this season. Newcastle as well, but lost to Leicester and Bournemouth...... crazy season for them so far.

There were some great performances today for Chelsea and Zouma and Azpi were right up there, the first half was our best so far although that's not saying much really.
Costa was brilliant too, he beat up the whole Arsenal team so much that even their manager & fans are crying from it, they're not crying about Gabriel's stupidity though for some reason which pretty much costa them the game.

Another excellent away win for Wham too

Sorry but the way he played was not brilliant. He was extremely lucky not to be sent off at least twice and deserved it thoroughly.

As a fan of neither Arsenal or Chelsea I can honestly say Chelsea were very lucky in a lot of ways and the more I see Costa play the less I like Chelsea.

Costa is not brilliant at all, annoys others players but when a player retaliates he cries waving imaginary cards to the ref. He makes you hate Chelsea even more than their manager and fans.

Im a die hard chelsea fan though and though but costa should have been set off my dad agrees and hes supported chelsea for 50+ years you cant push someone in the face to get them off the ball shoulder to shoulder yeah ok but not what he did in those 2 mins, he might get a ban after which tbh i expect we don't need that in the game and it shouldn't happen.

Regardless of the above we did play amazing fabregas was back to his best which i was more worried about and oscar playing and doing well means more to me he is world class and having pedro and hazzard on the wings was a joy to see i love william but pedro can and will be the better right winger in time for us.

zouma played so well bar a dodgy 5 mins at the start but deserves motm.

See this is a really annoying point of view, saying Costa successfully wound up Gabriel to get him sent off when in fact he pushed and elbowed someone in the face to start it all off and just didn't get caught. That's not good. That's not clever. He risked everything with no intention of winding anyone up and was just extremely lucky.

Read the predictions thread, his attitude is funnier when you realise he was talking up the team and Mclaren as better and with no chance of being relegated and couldn't believe anyone predicted they might go down. Few weeks later he wants the manager to die.

I think McLaren, like Carver before him, is proving what a bad manager Pardew is.

My post about Costa being brilliant & beating up the whole Arsenal team is tongue in cheek, obviously.
The point about Gabriel isn't though, he didn't need to get involved initially but chose to and he shouldn't have kicked out at Costa seconds after getting a yellow but chose to, that cost Arsenal the game.
