Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 5th March 2019]

A rule book doesn’t mean everything gets enforced. It’s not just penalties it happens for loads of things like some refs letting players take throw ins 10-15 yards from where the ball went out.

Why do people go to prison for stealing if thou shalt not steal?

Hes moaning about a law book being used then moaning when it does.

well of course ref dont inforce everything from the rulebook but doesnt mean its right.

Xhaka got away with a blinder here https://streamable.com/c62ow

Quoted for the arsenal fans questioning why Xhaka should have been sent off. I think a studs high cynical tackle from behind is as obvious as you get. Completely missed, but arsenal should have been down to 10 at 15mins. A far worse challenge than the rose yellow card.

I think they probably should have all been red cards.

Both should go for me but i agree, that's a stinker.

The person who encroached was vertoghan and who also intercepted the tap in attempted ..

More of a reason why it should be retaken. common sense, if the person encroaching got the upper hand in intercepting a rebound then it should be retaken.

Thats why its in the rulebook.

But hey lets ignore the rulebook shall we as the world is much safer(syria conflict plus other issues in the world?)

Deary me. The fact is, they both encroached, the penalty was one of the worst ive seen, you had the shot (which if it went in, i guarentee it wouldnt be retaken) and it was saved. You had the chances and Auba fluffed it.

noope it was offside
Yea, the offside would mean it shouldn’t have been a pen.
Offside doesn’t mean that you can’t commit a foul and give a penalty (dangerous tackle should and would be a red and penalty regardless of offside), but a push like that is not serious or dangerous so the offside would proceed the later foul. No penalty to me.

yp and the offside happened before the foul so you give the first incident which stops play and deems anything else after that meaningless

Spurs scored a goal but was deemed offside and the goal did not stood because the offside happened before the goal scored so same thing.

He isnt offside though is he lol. There is no attempt to play the ball.

"In situation where a player in an offisde position is moving towards the ball with the intention of playing the ball and is fouled before playing or attempting to play the ball the foul is penalised as it has occurred before the offside offence”

The "offside" didnt happen but the foul at all because Kane does not make an attempt to play the ball! Has Mustafi not fouled him, then Kane heads it then offside...he isnt until he makes that attempt.
