Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [20th - 24th April 2012]

It does make you think doesnt it...:p

More so. I just don't understand why we have an experienced United that get them selves ahead by quite a margin than all of a sudden start dropping points within weeks leading up to the their derby match? It's not coincidence, it stinks.

What use it to Sky and their advertisers if the league is all over by beginning of April. Even more so when they have a potential championship decider to play with.

All good sides have bad runs, Uniteds just happens to come at a horrible time it seems.

Are you really suggesting its rigged?

Tin foil hat engaged. :p

Sky can perhaps try their best using their reporters and journalists to influence the United camp into bottling it maybe, sewing seeds of doubt etc :D beyond that small possibility and whether it would ever work, I doubt anything but coincidence! It has been set up on an absolute pedestal though!

Found myself feeling a bit sorry for Liverpool last night! Found my own team on the nasty end of defeats like that a lot this year! All leads from not being clinical enough really though, especially when it has kept happening like in our case.

As if football is rigged, it's run by such clean, trustworthy and innocent people who are very charitable and do not care about money or personal wealth.

Another poor defeat for Liverpool. When will it end?

On the plus side, the Manchester derby should be a game worth watching.

What odds would you get for Tevez to score the winner?

I hate football :(

That game summed up our season (so close but yet so far). Had the opportunity to move into the play-off places with two games to go, we miss two penalties at 0-0 and then lose 2-1. GGAGRRRRGAHGRAH!

I'm torn now, as I imagine many are, on the issue of Dalglish. Something is definitely wrong, is it him or the players or what, I just dont know. The number of times we have hit the woodwork is astounding this year, goodness knows how many points thats cost us. At times its almost like the players think that hitting the woodwork is actually the idea ! :)

I'm inclined to lean toward the idea of new management at the end of the season, but against that is the fact that its Dalglish. A hero to me for 30+ years. I think that what I would like to see now is him given a continued chance (yes I know that almost any other manager wouldnt be given that chance, just look at how close Ferguson was to being sacked before he broke Utds 26 year wait for a title, Utd probably thank their stars now that they didnt sack Ferguson then) , but the clock is ticking. I'd give Dalglish the summer, and the first 4-6 weeks of next season to see how it goes. If things havent improved by then, I'd replace him with someone else. And yes, thats entirely because of who he is for me.

I really don't know how to call it.

Part of me thinks he has another year on his contract, give him next season and see where we go from there, again purely because of who he is, the man is a Liverpool legend.

Then there is another part of me that thinks, for whatever reason this is not working (one, possibly two cups is good, but it's no league title) and a management change needs to happen and some fresh ways of thinking to be employed, and do I want yet another season of results/performances like this year?

It's a really tough call for NESV!

Mickey Mouse cup :p:p:p

I joke, don't be hatin.

You joke, you joke, but you have to think, if they take that outstanding Carling Cup form into the league next year you've got to, just got to, put them as favourites. Last year we heard the same about the way they finished the league campaign, but Kenny was just getting warmed up this year, you've got to give him time to get back into it, give him time to get to know the new lads, give the new lads time to get to know the King and gel with the other lads. This time it's for real though. Get somebody in who can finish off the myriad of chances (ignore the £60m pair) and the league is in their hands

That's 1 Mickey Mouse Cup, 1 FA Cup and 1 Champions League (plus the Super Cup and Charity Shield) more than Arsenal since they won anything :p

Yes, that's exactly what was said and what we'll be saying. Dalglish has still won more in 18 months than Arsenal have won in nearly 7 years though. In fact, in less time Dalglish has won as many trophies as Wenger has in England (Dalglish has won the league more though).

It's nice to know that an Arsenal fan is so concerned about Liverpool despite their own mediocrity.
