Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [21st - 26th October 2011]

Another good away win for the yids, 16 points from a possible 18.

Even more promising when 4 of those 6 games have been away from home, and the two home games were against Liverpool and Arsenal :)

I'm a Newcastle fan and I agree.

I don't think we have had half the credit we deserve as being touted to go down but being 4th after 9 games and unbeaten is an amazing achievement, we have been fantastic and deserved the results we have earned.

However there is no chance we will be top 4 end of season. Any sane Newcastle fan is targetting survival first, top ten second and we have wet dreams about a Europa league league spot after a few brown ales :D

I agree I'm just counting down the points till we hit 40,anything above 10th and we should be over the moon

Very pleased with the performance even if we do end up losing this. Played very well considering we have 9 men.

Your manager is an absolute class act. Despite my dislike for Chelsea and City for obvious reason i really like both managers and wouldnt begrudge them finishing 2nd and 3rd this season :p

I hate football fans like that guy they just showed behind Ivanovic, he deserves a punch in the face. The players don't deserve to be abused while they're playing, and Ivanovic hasn't even done anything to annoy the QPR fans.

What on Earth. This referee is shocking. Chelsea have played very well considering. They should be one man down, not two. There probably should have been at least one penalty for Chelsea.

What a joke.

I think it was back in september that Phil Thompson said on Soccer Saturday that David Luiz was a great player but a liability as a defender.

Since he mentioned it its hard to argue and today is a good example.

He's too hot-headed at times. There's a good amount of passion and fight in him which is why he is successful when he goes forward. That same passion means he can be quite reckless and show an almost Rooney-esque temper at times.

Its not really a temper thing for me. He is really too good on the ball to be a defender! He tends to dive in far too much. Its a bit like Frank Le Boeuf was back in the day. I guess its a trade-off between being an acomplished player and putting the boot in when needed.

9 chelsea players booked LOL! I'm very pleased with the performance. Not a big deal that we've lost tbh, still early days. Good weekend for City though.

Cant see the ref getting too many games after that 1. Must have been 7 yellows, sure i heard terry say why not give the whole team one after cole's
