Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [21st - 26th October 2011]

Chelsea looked petulant. They were throwing themselves to the floor at every opportunity and some of their biggest names lost their heads and tried to get into fights throughout the second half because things weren't going their way.

Sore losers.

What will be interesting is if any of them on MOTD will give Balotelli/City credit after last week where all they talked about was Balotelli and Yaya's behaviour, dismissing the fact we beat comfortably an unbeaten Villa team and Balo played well.

Balotelli is a grade A complete nutcase who will ultimately be a problem. I love him.

I love players that rile fans. That he can unvail a t-shirts etc. Absolute quality.

My fav players of all time are cantona and best.

By the same token i hate Tevez for reasons ive explained before.

Fair play to city. Yes they got money so have the rest of top 4-5 teams. The difference is they aren't shy about spending it. Are the rest of the top 4-5 teams owners on benefits now?. I would gladly buy an epl tittle like chelsea did and city are in the proccesss of doing.

Blackburn and Chelsea would question the idea of buying a title.

Blackburn did it with Dalglish and were relegated shortly after.

What's all this news about a sick swan in Manchester?

Terry being racist towards Anton Ferdinand... or just calling him / the ref blind?

I'd love to be a ref, I'd send everyone off for decent if some half wit called me a **** (c)!

Man UTD bought *some* of theirs too, before Abramovic etc nobody else in the league could compete with them financially. Yeah you can argue that they are spending money generated from their worldwide fanbase but Chelsea/Man City etc aren't going to become big like them overnight without a quality team and a few titles under their belt. I think United fans are just upset that they are no longer the big fish in the league in terms of spending power. It used to be Man UTD breaking all of the transfer records with RvN etc.

This, one could say that Man United sold themselves out, they were the first to sell anything with the clubs name on it and expand to Asia etc.

What is it 600 million fans worldwide, wonder how many they had in 1991/92 :D

So much that Dave Whelan turned down the chance to buy Man United off Edwards due to him having his JJB stores and thinking people would shun the shop because Manchester United plc was owned by him.

Every year it's the same on here, Manu fans throwing in the towel after the bad starts of the last few years. Only to go on and win the league.

This year started well and it's been how good Fergie bought and how the new players have slotted in. They lose one game and the towel goes in again. Talksport was a disgrace with united fans bleating.

When Man city bought Robhino I was laughed at for suggesting united fans better get used to a new order because if the arab was serious no one could compete with that spending.

I love listening to United fans moan about teams buying the league when they did the exact same thing prising players from sides with the lure of bigger wages and transfer fees. Not on the same current scale but only because Manu helped move the figures along.

I will absolutely love it if City manage it this year, just to hear all the bleating about money ruining the game. No one ever cares about money ruining the game when their team are top of the league. Once city get one they will get confidence and probably be uncatchable with the funds they have.

I don't see them doing it this year though, I think it will take another year.

Well put, glad its from someone else, I said last season City would win the league soon, everything they are building up around the ground and the team mean they are a force for a long time, maybe the green gold supporters should buy out the glazers, they have gone quite since they won the EPL and CL over the past few years, no doubt end of this season they will be back out in force.

I wonder if they would be the same if the arab money came flooding into Man United? Had to laugh at footage of Glazers leaving OT in a fancy helicopter to fly to Wembley to see their handegg team play.

they've scored an average of nearly 3 goals a game, stuck 6 past you and 5 past spurs for 2 in return, away from home. they are 5 points ahead and have a gd of 12 more than you. another year? i can't see who can beat them tbh chelsea or arsenal maybe but they were superb today.
